I'm sorry lads but I'm going to go against the grain here .
I can't see where all the bile is coming from , in the run up to the FA cup semi ,
the one in which we replaced the bottle jobs from S6 , beat the scabs , and actually showed up at Wembley
He had and outstanding season for us , his injury fucked him up sure ,
But I thought he was a cracking player for us , and most of the posters pouring scorn on him now ,
thought the same to , as far as I'm aware he hasn't ,
Asked for a transfer , ( although he may want to go )!
Hasn't dissed our club ,
He may want to leave ,
but a Slew , or Italian international doing his old man's bidding he ain't .
If I'm wrong , I'll stand corrected .

I agree I will also stand there bemused when Burton come to the Lane and section of he crowd inevitably Boo him. Still think the decision to leave was driven by a Wilder (rightly so) wanting to free up some wages.

He's been contracted to the club for 2 and half seasons now. He's spend a total of 3 seasons on our books.

He's only been a good player for us for half a season. I don't think he's the bad influence some say he is but he's been a drain on resources and the return from him has been very poor.

Completely agree, I've got a lot of time for Brayford and think it's a shame how quick some people's attitudes have changed (althoguh I completely agree he had some poor games in his 'second coming' at BDTBL).

My guess is that he had a decent promotion clause in his contract to add to his already high wages, and that Wilder simply thinks that money would be better spent elsewhere. Which, if true, is fair enough, but I'd be perfectly happy to see Brayford back at the Lane as a squad player. I only hope that he's absent from pre-season due to injury or because he's definitely going elsewhere, and we don't end up with a costly player who has been frozen out with nowhere else to go.

For some it's the fee, others the wages, others both. For the most disturbed, it's the Clough link. Which is pathetic.

He's been a failure mainly due to serious injury. Wilder Isnt including him in his plans and I'm fine with that. He knows more than anyone on here despite some people thinking otherwise.

Now we have reports of Brayford dissing Wilder/the club and being a bad influence in the dressing room. Based on gossip only.

Model professional to McNulty 2 in twelve months.

He spent most of time with us out of position at CB because Clough refused to use actual CBs and then he did his Knee putting his body on the line dealing with another J-Mac bomb scare, he then tried to carry on... add to that taking a pay cut to join us. If a club offers a contract you cant blame the player for signing it.. not sure what else you want from him?

Ive no problem with our manager doing what he thinks is best for our club ,
always liked when Brayford was on his game , bombing up and down the wing ,
also agree about the wages also .

Football fans being fickle surely not .;)

The same could be said of a player we've just resigned ,
This is not a pop at you btw .
Good for 3/4 of a season in league 1 , did next to nothing in the previous seasons ,
Let's just (we) all hope he comes good this year , and tears this league a new one ,
Think someone else has said that before me though .

How anyone can have any beef with Brayford is beyond me.

Although he's an handsome chap who could've shagged their missus or summat? :)

Would've liked to have seen him in a blades shirt this season. Perfect fit for the rcb if we play 3 at back, as there's no way we're going to get any one else who's as good as him

I too don't like the bile being given out to JB, as has been said he has given an awful lot to the club.
He took one for the team big time in the playoff which led to a very long term injury.
It wasn't his fault he got signed on a ridiculously high wage by some clueless types at the club.

I'll never forget the kindness and humanity he has shown towards my mates son, who went through a rough time in his young life. ,
Things change in football, new managers come and go but for me no blame can ever be attached to a really nice guy.

I wish him all the best, in a short career.

All fair points and I don't disagree. But he has still been a drain on resources no matter what the circumstances.

Couldn't agree with you more re Ched. Just hoping he will prove worth it.

People seem to be forgetting that he took a large pay-cut to stay with us. Could quite easily have stayed in a higher division on higher wages.

And also that he can't train at the tempo that the manager insists on.

I too am in the pro Brayford club

I'm gutted it's not worked out.. he took a massive pay cut to join us, it's a relatively short career being a pro footballer, he was lucky his career wasn't cut short when he took one for the team in that play off semi.

Met him a few times and he is a geuninely nice bloke.. I'd be amazed that he's said anything detrimental..
More a case of CW thinking he could probably get at least two players in for John Brayfords wage.

No doubt some people that criticise him have a serious love-in for Paul Coutts and forget what a drain on resources he was for the first 18 months or so of his career with the Blades. I just wish It had been Chris Wilder who had signed him for us rather than some bloke who was obsessed with signing as many midfielders as he possibly could regardless of fitness levels.

If Wilder wants to get rid, he'd be better off including Brayford in things rather than freezing him out. The assumption that Clough still wants him may be true, but until anyone tries to sign him, he's our player, and an unfit, disinterested Brayford is no use to anyone, here or elsewhere.

Louis Reed was clearly on his way out, but despite having his squad number given away, he was given a different one, played in the first friendly and was front and centre in a lot of the pre-season photos and videos. Brayford is vaguely peeping out from behind other people in the boxing session, but seems much more exiled from the squad rather than keeping him involved.

What a load of bulls**t, (clearly) you know SFA

Not quite Wilder's tempo.
