Drove along cherry street on my way home, road works are happening and I noticed the cobblestone road underneath, anyone remember this from the past?

From those pictures, it doesn't appear anything is actually happening to Bramall Lane, just the roads around it.

They won't be putting their A team on it though, as there are no trees to chop down.

Now we've just got back in the Premier, perhaps Amey and our wonderful council can close Bramall Lane for a year and continue to make us a national laughing stock.

On an a positive note, the S6 tunnels will hopefully filled in as they're going to be obsolete for a good few years.

It is a bloody horrible bit of road to cross - I wouldn't be surprised if there had been loads of accidents.

And there always seems to be confusion between there and the traffic coming off the end of Cherry Street as to who has right of way.

EDIT: Parking is going to be a bloody nightmare next season too.

People queue up on Woodhead road like lemmings waiting to turn left onto Bramall Lane.

Turning right or going straight across is a nightmare though, it improved with the pelican lights, though having to jump out of the car to press the button when there were no pedestrians was a ball ache.

seems sensible enough. It's a nightmare bit of road.

I'm waiting for the tunnel to be built so we can have a quadruple decker stand on that end of the ground to house the 60,000 seater stadium we'll need when we win the champions league.

They are actually de-culveting the Porter Brook near Decathlon - it fell in last year/year before and was suspected as the tunnel they use.

We should be building BLUT across the road making BL a tunnel in that area. After doing up the Kop, South Stand, Academy obviously. Then we ought buy some players...

I think we have also had a 'knock down the John Street and build it bigger', so that together with the new Desso version 3.0, should nicley wipe out the £170m (or £200m if you come from a Manchester suburb).

But with the redevelopment value of the BL site for high end housing being so huge, those terraced houses on John Street would cost the club at least £200k each. The pork sandwich shop price doesn't bear thinking about.

Hopefully the new owners will see sense and just flush out the Kop bogs.

I'd heard somewhere in the dim and distant past that the club already own a lot of the properties on there... no idea whether that's true or not.

Seems a bit too much like forward-planning for it to be accurate

Didn't we buy a couple of the industrial units (the kids play place?) years ago, ready for world-domination-expansion, once we were settled in the Prem?

I think that with the continued heavy losses* they were sold about the same time that KM took the hotel back.



* Our experts will refuse to believe we have ever made any losses and put it down to the amount KM rips the club off.

Thought the properties were bought by John Street Developments Limited?
