Cheese wire hahaha ............... years ago I used air tools to cut windows out I don't think anyone uses the cheese wire today if they can help it and we used two pack glue so the window had to be in in less than 15 minutes or the glue would be solid no pissing about waiting a few hours before driving the vehicle away.
the aperture is under the over hang so you cant get a cutting tool in , as I said poor design
you can drive a car away in an hour or less but these windows weigh 25 kilos so need to cure far longer to support the weight

its 4 hours to cut out clean up paint the aperture stick in then back fill takes a while and recommend at least another 4 hours curing time

we used to do train windows too
that weighed around 2 cwt in a frame that needed 8 hours to hold the weight
train screen were horrendously expensive , the virgin train lean back one was 28 k, its a 4 ply laminated screen

2 pack has inadequate grab on certain windows was found to not mix properly in bulk
modern eurethane just has more acid activator in it

The Boris bus is shit to travel on. No windows that open, so no ventilation and you roast in warm weather. H&S dictate the back platform is always closed, so no hop on and off like the old routemaster. And they cost a fortune compared to a standard bus.

So you cant get a knife in from the inside ? yes poor design then. I always thought it was a ball ache if you had to remove the outer sun visor on a truck before cutting the screen out especially on a high cab like a Renault Magnum

the inside of the screen is inaccessable , the deep angled dashboard is not designed to stand on to knife so shove some wire through and pull from the floor is the only option

one of our fitters stood on one of the dashes and it gave way , cost 2 grand to replace

Perhaps the greatest twist in a thread to date... I used to work for Travel West Midlands... the passion some people have for buses is incredible.

And I'm not knocking it, as the price some were willing to pay for little model buses helped greatly when the HB finances required it..
