Transfers aren't done in order, targets would've been identified last season and close season then you go about trying to get them in. What If the selling / loaning clubs don't want to do business until they have someone in or they want to wait until later in the window what do we do, put all other recruitment on hold?

Who's to say at the point he said it, a striker he wanted had basically signed only for something to change (Maybe our board changed the offer, maybe the agent changed what they were after, maybe the selling club changed the terms). These things are fluid. It does seem strange that he seemed quite upbeat in his demeanour as well as saying about the best window etc only for nothing to have happened.

CW still isn’t making sense. We still need a ST bringing in, but he’s suggesting names to the board to replace JOC. We’ve got Jack Robinson, he’s been solid cover so far, I actually don’t mind him. Enda could move to LCB, we’ve just signed new wingbacks, Lowe and Bogle, who could then get a look in (instead of being sat on the bench). We’ve recently landed Ampadu on loan, he could adapt to the LCB position. We could even change formation and play with 4 at the back. I feel this ST fund is just depleting as the days go by. CW is the one who talks about cover and competition, he’s got that, so I don’t think he needs to replace JOC with someone new, I think it’s a joke tbh.

& to add insult, the two of those signings are yet to play a PL game for us after signing. Rumoured we paid 10m, with up to 15m being mentioned... and now we're struggling to get a 20m transfer over the line.
