Bottom tonight? Has there been a time in the past when both United and Wednesday have been bottom of their respective league at the same time?

Yes I remember both clubs being bottom of their respective divisions at points of the 87/88 season and I'm sure there were weeks when they were both at the foot of their tables at the same time.

Unfortunately, looking at our fixtures I think we will be bottom for several weeks at least, certainly in the relegation zone. Long season ahead.

Think it will a long season too but I think this team is solid enough to be ok, but god how do we need something up front.

Did we still have more points?

We're going down and we actually played really well today. McGoldrick won't score this season, Sharp needs off loading, Norwood is too slow the game completely changed when he came on and they started hitting us on the break easily. Unfortunately I think COVID/ lockdown came at the wrong time when we were desperate to strengthen 4/5 positions and we don't have the financial strength anymore.

I'm depressed.

BT sport just summed it up, the difference was all about someone who could put it in the net.
critical insight, stating the bleedin‘ obvious

We played pretty well against Villa and leeds but it is a big hurt to lose them both .
Both were huge 6 pointers,in each we should have gone 1-0 up but the two great chances to do it were missed and we paid for it.

We played pretty well but got no points defensively switched off again and can’t buy a goal I’ll always back Wilder but to just have got Burke in so far up front is pretty astounding I know he’s trying and windows open but it’s getting a bit frustrating

I predicted 6 points from first 3. I actually thought with the 5 games after it would be a disaster to only get 4.

0 is hard to digest

Wilder needs to look at himself. He knew we needed more quality up top but first thing he does is starts bringing in players in other positions.

This is spot on for me. It’s entirely on his head.

All very well him last week pointing fingers at the board but he needs to look at some of the players he has signed and ask himself has he got value for money on them. I don't mean the summer signings.

I don’t understand him. A fortnight ago, best window we’ve ever had, excellent backing. Now, we need quality at the top of the pitch and he’s making sly digs at the board. He can’t pass the buck.

That was my thoughts as well unless he thought 2 weeks ago the Brewster deal was done and dusted in our favour.

Wilder needs to look at himself before he looks at the board. If the fan forum was anything to go by then Chris usually gets what he wants from the board most of the time anyway. He has got a damn sight more in way of funds than he would have got from Kevin that is for sure.

We should have loaned a keeper again and then spend the ramsdale money elsewhere.

The money on fullbacks not even in the squad could probably have been better spend also. When we are talking about our limited resources we had to get the recruitment right- there is still time but it’s not seeming like we have had a satisfactory window yet. CW’s main target of improving our strikers has not been met by a long shot - though Burke looks a good option

Lot depends on the last week of the window especially with JOC out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the board doesn’t fund CW until January now. Like you said, he’s got what he’s asked for, there’s always a limit and I think we’ve hit it.

We would have got Henderson back had they not demanded we pay his wages in full.

We could have Maybe got Romero on loan or enquired about Martinez at Arsenal. Or Heaton from villa after they signed Martinez

Plenty of options out there - which would have allowed us to have money to spend elsewhere.

I’m not writing the season off, but I can’t see how we are going to score enough to compensate for a significantly worse defence than last years.

I agree we need more up top, but are you really saying we shouldn't have brought any players in for other positions we needed filling / covering until we got a striker?

What happens if we get to exactly where we are now and still not signed a striker, but we still need a 'keeper, RCM, RWB and RWB?
