Pigs wont like Carlos the Jackass being mentioned in the same breath as Chris Wilder......evidently they would be embarrassed if Wilder was their boss after his recent antics and are so pleased their manager is more classy and reserved.....it makes him more professional evidently!

its much less embarrassing sending a dossier of refereeing conspiracies' to the FA , or comparing Sam Hutchinson to xavi, in between his dream obviously.

It would have been great to see then get presented the trophies together.

A still inebriated Chrisy Wilder. Singing and dreaming of Josephines would have probably put the fear of his into old Carlos

Chris was always going to hammer the celebrations, after all he's one of our own who understands what it means for a local boy to come good, unlike carlost and the pork with their boring sterile club and delusional fans.

Stangely there's no mention of Wilder also getting MOTM on Porktalk and the fact it's a Sheffield first.

I guess that just about sums the Pig mentality. Non-stop chatter and numerous links to S24 threads on the members only section away from the general public gaze, mainly about how bad (they hope) we'll do next season, but they haven't even got the grace to mention a bit of local history. They really are a sad bunch off feckers aren't they?

Here's hoping that all the luck they've had this season (that's now been wiped from their thick heads) runs out and the curse of MOTM kicks in. They seem to think it's all about money now they've spent a bit, but as always it's more about a good team spirit and a decent manager. Just look at all the other teams that have been awash with money and failed.

They are a truly SHOCKING team and a boring bang average won nowt manager, who will be an embarrassment to Sheffield IF they go up. Quote that yer sad Piggy bar-stewards. :D

Deep down across the city they will have looked with envy at the way we celebrated this promotion over the past few weeks.

They could only dream of their foreign merchandise turning up at the pubs in Hillsborough to celebrate with the supporters, the joining in all the singing with the fans at the final whistle at MKD and those scenes on Tuesday at the Town Hall.

Ian McMillan the Barnsley poet on that recent radio programme about football chants described the GCB as a sepia print of football from a bygone era. This season we have seen our club create a culture from a bygone era. We truly are United together.

Yes your nightmare has returned. The noisy neighbors are back.

The celebrations over this week have been special because it was a throwback to the days when fans had a genuine connection with the club and players they were watching. It is likely never to feel like that again. Maybe one last hurrah from the old days.

Wednesday are a faceless club now and that's not just a dig. Most of the top clubs are. The likelyhood is that we will have to be to get into the Premiership. It's really sad what's happened and what you need to do to compete at the very top these days.

We should enjoy this season as much as we can as the next time it happens it won't have the same feeling of togetherness. If Wednesday go up then their fans will naturally not care that their players and manager have no affinity with the club. We wont either if we go up to the Premiership in the same way but no matter what we achieve, I don't think it will feel quite as special as this season has. I'm glad I was there to experience it.

Why do you not think this togetherness will continue in the championship? Is it due to the influx of new players or the type of players we will have to sign to get us out of the champ?

It's highly likely we will have to start paying out the same sort of silly wages that other clubs do to succeed. Straight away that will ruin the camaraderie between the players to a certain degree. It's also likely we will be bringing in more foreign players who will have a totally different culture to the one we as fans have.

I don't know, I just look at Wednesday who are doing very well and there just isn't that same connection with the club and the fans as we have right now. They are a better side, have more money and could be in the Premiership next season but when I look at what they've done to get to this position it makes me feel a little sad that we may have to do the same to get in their position. There are loads of Owls fans massively unhappy about them getting rid of their stripes and having their Chairman's name all over the stadium for instance. They may seem like nothing things but it obviously effects the identity of a club to some level. I just don't think we will have a promotion quite like this one again.

Not totally disagreeing Roy but how many of us thought we would never replicate the team spirit, player to fan relationship and scenes of jubilation at promotion as we had in the Bassett era?

It's happened again (in abundance) and it could continue. As long as we all let it.

We can get to the play offs, or at least improve the existing team without upsetting the present team spirit in my view and we certainly won't have McCabe's name all over the stadium and huge price hikes like Chansiri has done! I can't see Wilder bringing in foreign players like Wednesday have done. I think what Brighton have done is nearer the model to follow. They do have two or three foreign lads but they are decent players unlike most of Wednesday's imports who just sit on the bench or don't even make the match day squad.
