Forest seem to have firepower, game changers. Fulham didn't have any.

Mackie and Henderson bagged last night, two decent goal scorers. If they can keep both fit or in hendos case, if they can keep him away from suspension.

Big factor for me: 3 ex blades in halford, Reid and hendo.

Other factor: history. 2003, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god... Are we again wheeling pesch out for this one.

History pt 2: Clough. Him. His dad. His sacking by derby after losing to forest.

I personally think it'll be a cracking game

So do I Swiss.

And Harry will own Hendo ;)

Mind you Cloughie absolutely hates Billy Davies (don't we all) so he would definitely be up for kneeing him up the arse again

Might be the first time we see a Davies team at The Lane that doesn't time waste from the 1st minute and fake injuries to kill the clock.

Seen in the Grauniad today:
Preston North End v Nottingham Forest – as it happened
Despite a heroic second-half performance, Preston North End were unable to overcome their Championship opposition and Nottingham Forest go through to face Sheffield Wednesday.

(good, piss-taking report, though. As with ours v Fulham).

Crowd was 9,744 which is a fucking disgrace and makes you realise how good Blades fans are (Forest at Home to Watford last midweek, a game that handed Forest a seven-point cushion in the Sky Bet Championship playoff positions, drew a massive 18.5k).

Just been reading up on the Preston and Forest forums to try and gauge what them lot thought of our match last night and how they fancy their chances against us at the lane and it seems they were slightly underwhelmed by us or more precisely we were "dire" according to them, fans of both teams are excited about hopefully winning and coming to the lane because they see us as an easy ticket to the quarter finals.

I hope someone has logged on to the PNE forum and wished them good luck for the quarter finals then..... :D

I think the Forest game will be harder because they will appreciate FA cup money and want to do well in the tournament.

Villa would rather have the £60m the premier league offers and Fulham had a PL game 2 days after the BL fixture and they are absolutely terrible, almost every side I have seen United play this season have been better than Fulham.

And as mentioned, Halford and especially Henderson will want to do well on their return.

I'm quite gutted about the tie, mainly because we have to concern ourselves with Billy Davies, ffs

So much truth. Shrewsbury were about the same level.
