Our attacking problems are not yet fixed.

Since February 2013, we have scored precisely 81 goals in 78 League games. These are all League One games, it's not as if we are playing Champions League games every week.

The rot set in after Wilson's last January transfer window (Forte's current form is ironic to say the least), plummeted under Weir and has shown some improvement under Clough but not enough and of late we appear to be regressing again.

Our commitment, movement, delivery and finishing in the final third is largely shite.

Football is meant to be entertaining so it really pisses me off that we're not having a go. Is anyone enjoying what's on offer at the moment ?

Yes I know we had a fantastic cup run last season but in most other games we are boring.

Please fix this Mr Clough.

Football is not meant to be entertaining, but it invariably is

and entertainment doesn't guarantee enjoyment either. I'm sure MK Dons travelling home last night enjoyed the 0-1 more than the 6-0 v Colchester.

I do agree though that were not getting enough goals. But out of interest, how's the win ratio over the same period? Wilson certainly ended up with a worse win ratio after that final transfer window, but then both he and weir were not afforded the luxury of the princes money.

Clough has brought in a few strikers now, but nothing has quite worked recently. I see us in a transition at the moment with CoG coming in just in time. Let's get him fit quick

I beg to differ, football is meant to be entertaining in my opinion. I want players who get you out of your seat.

I agree a hard working COG could make a difference. However, I remain concerned about our delivery in the final third. I don't think we have any special qualities from full back, wingers or other midfielders.

It would be just our luck for COG to have a calf injury for the entirety of his loan. I hope they do the right thing because calf injuries can be very difficult to sort out.

"Football is not meant to be entertaining" - eh?
I don't beg to differ, I totally disagree. I haven't paid £350 to SUFC to turn up on a Saturday afternoon/Tuesday night just for the hell of it.
I guess after 47 years of watching the blades my priorities have changed but I'd rather watch us lose 5-4 and be entertained than grind out a 0-0 or win/lose 1-0.
This slow, boring defensive football is killing my love of the game.

I thought the purpose was to score more than the opposition, but that's detracting from your point.

I think Harris has the capability to be a supplier ( see Murphy's goal last week) but he can't be the only full back providing the ammo into the box. I like Davies, he delivers the ball and also gets forward. Harris take note on this.

I've not seen enough of us to know if Alcock gets forward enough, but from what I've read, he doesn't. If we had a right back bombing on as well it would created headaches for opposition defences allowing our midfield 5 more space to also get forward.

Football is totally supposed to be entertaining. From its conception until results became more important than performing well and entertaining the crowd. Look at the clusterfuck that football has become where revenue streams are more important than fans. Where fans aren't even the main revenue stream any longer!

Then put yourself in the Managers position. You get the chop these days if you don't win for 5-6 games so woe betide the manager who decides he wants a revolution at the club. Or perhaps the manager who wants a revolution but looks at the players and thinks "this lot aren't good enough/capable"

Personally I am sick of football which is why I watch so little these days. The game I loved has become an utter shambles. Our national team rebuilding against a backdrop of an FA that doesn't have a clue, a Premier League that has a barbed wire fence around it and won't let anyone in unless they can pay for the priviledge and a lower league where even in Division 3 results are more important than the level of entertainment you deliver. If you remember the last bloke who gave us an entertaining side hauled a shitload of points but still didn't get us promoted. The next season he lost anyone of creative note thanks to SuperBlade so had to revert to grinding out results. So even if you entertain you get fucked up the bum in the end.

This division is as shit as I can remember but we can't get our way out because no one at the top level wants to put their balls on the line with enough money to make it happen. And if someone wants to come along and say "but Jose Baxter, Scougall, McNulty etc etc didn't come for free" then great, that shows the level of our ambition. But don't keep pinning the blame on the manager because we keep changing them and it makes no positive difference.
