You dont see many poor bookies,

I see Skybet are giving

Blades for Promotion 11/10

Blades to win Championship outright 5/1

At least they are optimistic :p

Our current base squad not counting players currently negotiating renewals is:

Kenny
Aksalu

France
Taylor
Stewart
Lowton
Morgan

Quinn
Williamson
Yeates
Reid

Ward
Henderson
Evans
Creswell
Ward
Sharp

That means that Blackwell and Birch are going to be looking at

2 x Centre Back
1 x Full Back
2 x Central Midfielders
1 x Winger
1 x Forward (Boggy)

If Montgomery and Naysmith sign on then we will be signing two quality championship players.

Sharp leaving will release funds for Boggy.

With all the free agents this summer I can't see a problem in picking up those required players for very cheap or even free.

Birch and McCabe have said we will be going for the play offs again next season and to be honest I can not see how we won't.

Keep the faith.

Weren't we among the favourites for promotion this time last year? I remember all and sundry tipping us to go up.

Means nowt until 46 or so games into the season I'm afraid. Ask Blackpool fans!

FWIW I don't think we will get anywhere near while Blackwell is in charge. 1D Manager who had his chance last season and should have been given the boot when we failed to go up. Although to be fair to the man he did have the rug pulled from under him on a daily basis.

If you're after a flutter on us, I suggest you go with Paddy Power which has us at a much more realistic 16/1 to win the division, the same odds as Leeds and longer odds than Norwich or Ipswich. Cardiff are their favourites.

I think the monies from selling one of the Jamie Wards would get at least two of the players we need Worksop.

I agree. Selling our good players and using the money to buy cheaper players has worked out a treat in the last few seasons.

Weren't blackpool favourites for relegation last summer?

I cant really see how anyone say who is going to win this division next year. The sides coming up and down arent going to be overly impressive, i would have said burnley considering their decent financial standing, but we all know who the manager is there! It could be anyones this year, blackpool are the proof in that respect.

God knows how Boro are heading some markets at the moment.

We are a decent bet e/w at 16s for the top 4, leaving aside your love or hatred for Blackwell, he has shown that he can get teams up there given a fair wind. As some have pointed out, god knows what our team will be come August but with a few solid signings, there's no reason why we shouldn't be up there challenging.
