That's possibly the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me on this forum...
I'll be having my hair done, smiling and I may also have a manicure too.

You're no relation to that gorgeous brute, Sandy are you?
The white wouldn't have shown up ( obviously) LYDON, but like the flag colours ya fenian bastard .

Robson- I even remember as soon as he was appointed starting a thread called 'I'm nailing my colours to the mast' on the Blades Online Forum, saying how bad it would be (and I've never had an opinion one way or the other on most other managers)
Play off v Huddersfield - I was in a Lincoln pub with 4 other Blades who were all celebrating, just sitting there even though we were 3-1 up on penalties, there's an inevitability about some sh*t.
Brayford - he's worth every penny of £2m it's just never worth blowing the entire budget on one player. Hasn't Football Manager taught people anything?

I was abroad when that playoff final was played, and watched it on a poor quality stream that kept freezing. When penalties started it was 2am where I was.

I turned off the computer and went to bed. It was obvious what was going to happen next.

That after their games against Nottingham Forest and Manchester United respectively , Jonathan Forte and Luton Shelton were not remotely good enough , despite the reaction their performances provoked in my fellow fans .

No, but he is into bodyline if that takes your fancy....

I said right from the start that McNulty wasn't a real Doctor.

He's still going strong on Bladesmad old McNulty. I love how he came up with Dr lie in another tantrum and has had to stick with it for years despite convincing nobody. I wonder what he really does

That Ched Evans' original conviction was unsafe because of the lack of evidence against him - I got that right.

I also tried to put a bet on Hillary Clinton to become the first female president the week after her husband's affair with Monica Lewinsky came to light 1998?. The bookie wouldn't take the bet. It remains to be seen whether or not that proves correct..... generally speaking, I am a very unlucky person & this proves it!

I like how he chose the name McNulty after the character in The Wire thinking it made him sound tough and then we sign a player called McNulty. But fuck him, I've no interest in who he is, what he does, what he thinks or says.

I’m glad this thread has turned up to make me feel better about the ones I got wrong. My “wins” include

Saying Jags would go further than Tonge when Tonge was ripping defence (including Liverpool) apart in 02-03.

Saying Walker would go further than Naughton after the PO final v Burnley.

Saying we should sign Albert Adomah when he was a Bristol.

Saying we should sign Nahki Wells when Bradford were in the 4th tier.

Saying we should sign Lucas Akins when Burton were in League 1.

Saying we wouldn’t go up after we sold Nick Blackman.

Saying Lyle Taylor would be a very good striker in League 2 and might come again at League 1 after he struggled with us.

Saying we would go down when we sold Deano.

Saying we wouldn’t go up when we sold Deane and Fjortoft.

Saying we wouldn’t go up when we sold Maguire.

Saying we wouldn’t go up when we sold McDonald.

Saying we wouldn’t go up when we sold Murphy.

Saying that if we stuck with Neil Warnock, he’d get us up.

Saying we were going up when we signed Paul Ifill (having already got Kabba and Webber. I thought those 3 players would be key).

Saying Robson would be a disaster.

Saying we should have appointed Dean Smith instead of Nigel Clough.

Saying we should have signed Clayton Donaldson on a free from Crewe when we got relegated

Saying we should have signed Mark Duffy from Scunthorpe about 5 years ago.

Saying Scunthorpe would mount a promotion challenge this season.

Feeling better about some of those wrong calls now…

At least you have the strength of character to admit when you get something wrong.

It says a lot about someone's mental fragility when they're obsessed with pretending they're never wrong.

I predicted when I was baptised as a blade, I would face a life of pain. I faced a life of pain.

I wrote an open letter to Reg Brealey stating that he had just relegated us by selling Deano. It got a two-page spread in the Green 'Un of the day. I saved it but it's long been lost in one of many house moves. Is there an archive of Green 'Uns anywhere?....

Addendum: I bet Silent's got one..... :)

That Billy Sharp would be a regular goalscorer, based on a loan at Dagenham and Redbridge when he scored 9 in 16.
It took a while and a few attempts but happy now

Funny that you said almost word for word, what your idol Mr Bassett said on hearing the news.....

Agree with The Green Man that Brooks will become a ridiculously good talent. Although I'll post this into things I got wrong as soon as it doesn't happen.

That KM is a blade through and through and is the best Chairman we have had in living memory .

That Nigel Adkins was.....

Regretfully and apologetically not entirely right for the role of Sheffield United manager.

when we turned out in white shorts as in 1967/68.

1967/68 season wasnt the first time we wore white shorts for home games. In Sept 1966, Spurs brought their black shorts for their match at BDTBL so the ref ordered us to wear white shorts. We won 3-1 and decided to wear white shorts for our home games, it was a success until December 1966. After the 1-0 home defeat to Leicester and the 3-2 defeat against Birmingham in the 5th round of the League Cup we reverted to black shorts for the rest of our home games that season
