Hundreds trying to get in just before kick off and empty seats for the whole 90....?

No tickets were sold for it apart for one section that went on sale yesterday.

Not sure what the thinking was behind that.

Noticed last two games have been a pain getting into the Kop as well. We go in on Shoreham/John St corner and the scanners seem to be taking 2 or 3 seconds longer to activate. Times that by a few thousand and the queues soon build up. On Tuesday we were there in plenty of time but walked in just as Leon scored the opener.

The scanners were slow outside the Bramall Lane entrance to the South Stand on Tuesday. There was a massive backlog of people trying to get in and it was the longest I have waited to get into the ground before.

The scanning system around the ground running a bit slow lately?

Sounds like it. How long have we had it now? Must be 10 years. I know I’ve still got the same card I’ve had since they came in. When you think about it, what technology from 10 years ago is fit for purpose these days? Maybe its ready for an upgrade.

There was more body searching then I ever seen at any game before at the Lane today. I don’t know if this is intelligence lead and the club were tipped off but the queues at every turnstile were noticeable.

It would be interesting to know if there was similar at other games today, was there threat of some sort of attack?

Dont worry, they’ve will got the man with the pedal in the little hut at the sty.

Nah, he’s been laid off; apparently they've brought in a bloke from Middlesborough who was on a zero hours contract list for turnstile operation and wasnt getting in the match day workforce because all the other turnstile operators were better than him. Pork are paying him £30k a week to let in 5 or 6 people per season.

Could be because its on telly, worldwide? The whole point of these random attacks is to make an impact, so I guess maybe the game being televised live bumps up the “potential threat” rating?

My 70 yr old mum got her bag searched. But they didn't search me and missed the 6 flares I took in

They were searching before the Fulham game and yesterday on the BLUT and Westfield Corner gates.

Didn't search the people I was with each time though, our lass and my 16 year old cousin.

They're just as capable as I am of carrying stuff.

The moral of the story is, if you intend on taking some flares, drugs, knives, bombs or whatever into the ground, take a woman or a kid and give it them.

Scanners were definitely working slower on the kop turnstiles too. Normally it a beep and straight in, yesterday had to wave my ST around in a few different ways before it let me in and a few looked to be the same.

I went in the BLUT, and there was no queue 5 mins before kickoff. But getting out was a royal pain in the arse as we were forced down to the furthest exit from the Brum fans, then found Bramall Lane blocked by Plod. Was a long walk to get into town....
