Afternoon all,

I'll forgive you for not wanting to listen to this with a rabid appetite, but anyway - here is Roygbiv and me sifting through the Wolves game, and weighing up some overreactions vs genuine concerns. Plus, discussed tomorrow's League Cup game, Villa away, and finished with pondering who was the big winner from the opening weekend of Premier League games.

Thanks as always for listening!

And here on Spotify and Apple.

How different are your listening figures depending on whether we’ve won or lost?

Are we masochists or fair-weather fans? I’m more inclined to listen after a win, but don’t know if everyone is the same.

It's pretty consistent to be honest. The "standout" results tend to get a few more (Chelsea at home last season for example) but there's probably only about a 3-5% difference between a win and a loss.

Great pod, always enjoy the rational chat after a defeat. Only one issue, on Spotify your discussion of getting a new striker in is merged with your Beer52 ad, it's around the 46th minute

Always a great listen fellas, but for one of the first times, I'm going to respectfully disagree with your summarisation that Wolves were comfortable at 2-0. In the 2nd half alone:-

Enda gets in down the left and has a half decent chance. albeit on the angle.
Fleck hits the post.
Sharp gets in twice down the left, and on one occasion really should pick out Lunny for a tap in.
We got in on a few occasions down the right, and on one of those occasions McBurnie has that chance headed off the line; Sharp also has a back-heel where he isn't too far away.

But for a bit of luck (which we never seem to get) and better finishing we could have scored at least 2 goals there - I'm pretty sure Wolves didn't allow those chances on purpose.

Thank you, discovered that after I’d uploaded 🤦‍♂️ still getting up to “match fitness” myself it seems. For anyone else reading this, it was fixed after about 30 mins so if you downloaded it immediately please just delete and redownload

Fair enough pal, completely agree with your last paragraph but we didn’t help ourselves either with the lack of quality with the final pass. I think it’s fair to say we gave them a game second half and probably a different story if one flies in, but...

...which is testament to the quality of the podcast.

I’m hugely affected by whether we win or lose. When we lose I don’t look at Roy’s View From, and often can’t even bring myself to watch the highlights - but I always listen to Bladespod. Entertaining, win or lose, and analysis is critical where warranted, without being hysterical. Keep up the great work.

Cheers again for the pod Ben and Andrew.

I've just listened to it on Spotify and it seems to still have the faulty version on there. Gave it a listen on Soundcloud instead and seems to be right on there.

I'm exactly the same. If we've lost, the last thing I want to hear is more about it. Combine our defeat on Monday with a ridiculous defeat for my NFL team on Sunday and it meant I've stuck to music on my runs this week. Always enjoy the pods when I do listen though lads. Hopefully I'll be tuning into next week's 😂 .
