Agreed. Really poor spot kick - once the kid’d gone the right way, that was an easy save. Hinchcliffe was correct at half-time - Ooh Ahh David McGoldrick signalled the way he was going to hit it in his run-up. That’s fine if you then close your foot at the last minute and put it in the other corner, but it ended up being easily read and easily saved. Shame, as if that’d gone in, we’d have beaten them three or four.

Not a great deal of highlights for all the domination. Nearly 75% possession and only 1 half chance in the box for Billy. I fear a similar season to last. Forget it was the pigs, that should have been a routine win for most teams in this division. Fucking gutted

But the capitulations of late have been the result of a different type of defending to that on display last night.

It's understandable that Blades fans make reference to the number of Wednesday's defensive players on the pitch, but the block out was far more about the basic defending employed than the numbers. Basically, they didn't try to play like Italy at the back like they did against Norwich.

And Jos was thwarted too, because he didn't get the chance to bring on FF for the last 20 minutes.

McCabe had better get his hand in his pocket in January, as other visiting teams may attempt to do what Jos did last night.

That penalty looks worse every time I see it. It's not where he put it as much as the way he telegraphed he was putting it there. Keeper knows the direction before he starts his run. The height on a night like last night will pretty much always be low.

Another week, another Freeman error as well. Let's be honest, outside of the pen, Fox has the best chance of the night.

I actually thought the keeper got down really well to McGoldricks’ penalty and turned it away brilliantly but each to their own I suppose.

It’s only a nice height for the keeper if it’s 2 or 3 foot in the air, that was on the floor and I think that’s a difficult save to make.

Apart from. The save from the penaltyFix had the easiest chance. Didn't we just have one shot on target in the 2nd half?

We played great football in the 1st half but the poor final ball meant we hardly created a clear chance. That sat eve deeper in the second half and DM was playing so deep BS was on his own against 5 defenders.

I thought it would have been worth switching to 4-3-3 for the last 10 mins because we had run out of ideas

Trouble is when People moan about accurate crosses into the strikers they need to look at the facts... we had plenty going in but it is near on impossible to hit your strikers when there are around 8 of their players defending. Our strikers were out numbered about 4-1 when the balls were coming in. It really is down to luck more than anything when we convert one given those amount of defenders filling the gaps.

The reason we battered Villa 4-1 is that they made the mistake of trying to compete with us and came out at us - Wendy had the sense not to. It's not good tactics or a case of "Jos out thought Wilder" (as some deluded wendys are claiming) it's just common sense to defend in numbers when faced with a far superior footballing team that will rip you a new one if you dare to compete.

Well done Wendy on a negative performance and it did earn you a point but God, I'm so glad we are not them and play that negative shite.
