Blades v Wednesday - Match Highlights

The bit of the highlights I really love is just before the Duffy goal. Wendy had just equalised and the whole of the Wendy stand can be seen bouncing up and down and singing as the ball goes forwards towards Duff then as he puts the ball in the net they all suddenly stop bouncing and are all just stood absolutely still. Watch it and see. I just love it.......

Ive recorded the whole game on both Tv's in HD. One in the sitting room and the other on the 42" flat screen HD in the bedroom.

Early night tonight I think. :)

Does anyone know if sky are doing an extended highlights - match of the day style etc - of today's game? I have a pass I bought for a day and may as well get my money's worth and see us do them over again?!

I cant deny when i saw the 2 lineups confidence drained out of me. because on paper it looked an uphill challenge Wednesday have many expensive players 5m 10m & 40k 50k 60k a week. had a lot of similarities to England v Wales at euros, as we shouldnt be anywhere near that team on paper & but the fa cup has become the greatest cup competition because its played on grass not paper

for me I think was 1 of the most entertaining derbies in recent times thank god derbies are only twice a yr. it was like a play off match. neutrals loved it from what i seen, but agony for all those involved. 2-0, even 2-1 at HT was beyond my wildest dreams although at no point being ahead (bar 4-2) did I ever feel comfortable but i said in the build up we dont have best squad but we know chris wilder & billy sharp will have drilled into them what this means this week & since April. the mentally strong nature of the team shown again to do that. in hate to say incredible atmosphere when 2-2 went in which I thought oh god this is it nice while it lasted here comes the onslaught. reinforces this team doesnt crumbles under pressure but it grows & flourishes

James Allison at 2015 malaysian gp. has 1 of greatest sporting quotes. as after big ferrari drought & unexpected win. he said "This sport is mainly misery so the good days & when get an incredible rush makes it all worth while." which i find always very poignant because them 6 yrs in l1 with very low moments to many to count Fleetwood x2 Crawley Stevenage Hartlepool x2 Burton Scunthorpe Shrewsbury Yeovil Southend Bury etc. when you wonder why you go & it theses times why you do

I cant deny when i saw the 2 lineups confidence drained out of me.

I couldn't believe some of the reactions I read to the line-up when it was announced. "What's Wilder doing?", "Wilder's most negative line-up ever", "If only Matt Done were still here" etc etc. I looked at the line-up and my only reaction was relief that one of Sharp/Donaldson/Clarke were fit enough to start, so we didn't have a repeat of the previous weekend. The other change of moving Basham looked completely understandable. And it worked a treat.

LoughboroBlade well it was more praise & respect for wednesday we shouldnt be anywhere near that team on paper so many expensive players. as we know they have luxury of 10m player on the bench. & front2 on nearly 100k week. our team put together doesnt even come close to that

but i thought basham role was inspired. almost like Barcelona in that era. where they had a defensive midfielder to free up fleck & coutts

Lads, Lasses you were brilliant, well worthy of the 3 points, great character to get back in front after their equaliser. Superb goal from Duffy and you don't need me to tell you how good Brooks looked, if that's his natural level then you've got a real special talent on your hands. Hopefully where you are now in terms of league standings and potential, you'll get to keep hold of him for a while, if he has another game like that soon there'll certainly be clubs higher up prepared to pay good money for him. He really does look a class above most I've seen at his age. That's probably the best individual performance I've seen by a teenager since Will Hughes burst onto the scene with his display against Leeds.

Personally I saw enough yesterday to think you can sustain a top 6 push, momentum is a great thing in football and it looks like the manager and players have developed that winning habit (as much as Sunderland are seeing the opposite) and it's really difficult for opponents to stop that kind of consistency. I really hope it's one of those memorable seasons where you get carried along on the crest of the promotion and title winning wave. Results so far this season will have made one or two sit up and take notice. I still can't see past Leeds for one of the promotion spots but with a good wind an injury/suspension free set of fixtures, I really can see you finishing top 5.

Some really good finishes yesterday as well, the free kick was clever, both of Clarke's goals were tidy and you got what you get from Mark Duffy, a flash of individual genius. When you signed him I think I said that if you were flying he'd be a good asset but that if you struggled he could go missing, everything I've heard and the few bits I've seen, he's had a real positive effect over the last 12 months. Looks like I did him a bit of a did-service as I didn't think he was reliable enough to play for a strong championship side.

I'll pop on from time to time, keep my eye out of how the old boys like Coutts and Freeman are doing and I'll keep wishing you all the best for the season ahead. looks like Freeman may have his work cut out to get his shirt back from Baldock on yesterdays showing, Coutts was brilliant, such a clever tidy player.

Days like yesterday are what makes football great, I'm sure you all had a belting time and I hope the buzz last for weeks. Well Done and Congratulations.

If anyone needs a quick break from watching yesterday's highlights, the absolutely superb tackle around 2m15s makes it well worth sitting through about 7 replays of a Lee Hughes pass.

After that, you can nip back and watch that Duffy goal, just one more time.

For anyone without Sky, you can watch the entire game on iFollow. £4.50 to sign up for the month if you don't want to pay for a year's subscription.

No commentary, but the crowd noise is good enough (looking forward to that third goal!).

Love watching this again and again! The guys in the front row at the centre with the black tops makes me smile the most! Such a great day, it'll take a while to stop smiling!

The absolute best thing about that video is evey time you watch it you notice something different. From the overwhelmed Blades to the frustrated, 'V-flicking, saddo's' sat on the bottom tier.

Whoever put the camera there, bravo!

To be fair to wednesday, their players clearly misunderstood Carlos' instructions

When he told them they were playing 4-4-2 they must have thought they should lose 4-2 :D
