Post Match Press Conference:

Watch the first goal, Ramsdale is too busy pushing Ampadu out to come for the cross and ends up out of position should have been an easy take on the front post. To me he is just as much at fault as Bogle who didn't even jump.

“We were paid a complement by the way they set up” Ahhh so you did notice and do nothing about it. Got it.

I really didn’t like the Wilder interview today. If he thinks that was acceptable then the rest of the season is going to be painful. Spurs never got out of 2nd gear after we gifted them a goal inside 5 mins. The match stats on shots and corners tell a lie because we were abject apart from 10 mins after half time. We got back into the game and Norwood struck again. I know he can’t do it but I’d be going nuts at the lot of them barring McGoldrick and possibly Burke.

Just watched the highlights of our game against Bournemouth at home last season. He is doing the exact same crap for our equaliser.Flapping all over the place when the ball comes in the box.

Just watched MOTD.
I thought we were awful live this afternoon but looked decent on MOTD except for the errors.
🙄
Looked at xg stats and we could seem unlucky not to get a draw!
That 3rd goal killed us just as we were getting going. A flukey goal he (not trying to spell his name) will never repeat.
So frustating.Screenshot_20210117-225358_Chrome.jpg

What is this xg stat nonsense based on?

Lloris had a simple afternoon.

Before we signed him a colleague asked me if I'd be happy with us signing him. I highlighted the exact goal you've mentioned as an example of why I wouldn't want us to.

It's based on how easy to score from positions shots are taken from.
Take the position Burke got in left side of the box where he tamely allowed the defender to get a block in. It was rated 4% chance of scoring. (Only 1 in 25 of similar chances are taken).
Their 3rd goal from a similar position but a tad nearer was rated at 6% so 1 in about 17 of those are taken.
Both were unlikely to result in goals but somehow Ndombele managed to get his in despite running away from goal at the time...
You add up the likelihood of any player scoring from all the scoring positions created and come up with around 1 so we should have scored about 1 goal, which we did...
Spurs somehow conjured 3 goals from the sum of all their efforts but those chances would normally also only have resulted in 1 goal.
So on the day the chance creation was similar between the two teams but the goals scored wasn't. Either Spurs finishing was great eg Ndombele's goal, or our defending (or goalkeeping) was poor, eg for their first goal.
Goal 1 was poor from us, goal 2 was poor in the way we lost possession but Kane is world class and took it on and finished with some aplomb! Bash & Rammers could both perhaps have done a bit better but its what Kane can do.. goal 3 was an audacious chip that would rarely result in a goal but shit happens to us, so a large slice of luck for them. Imo anyway. You could say it was an exquisite finish. But it certainly wasn't a great chance to score. Far from it. He was running into no mans land and had 2 defenders on him.
All Im saying is the general play and positions each team got themselves into was very similar. The difference on the day was unforced errors, poor defending, excellent finishing, a bit of luck.
The first 3 of those come largely down to the quality of player and we cant get hold of similar quality players as Spurs can due to budgetary issues. We get the best we can out of our players but it just isnt going to be enough in the longer term..

So we restricted them to 3 shots in the box and 2 of the fuckers went in. Son really should have done better with the one that hit the post too (I actually thought Ramsdale did well there and forced him to make a decision instead of diving at his feet like the 'experts' wanted him too)
