At the point where the commentator said 'that's red' I'm shouting 'whaaaaat?'
Again got to ask WTF is VAR for if not the big descisions? Just the marginal offsides then.
 
One of the worst reds ever that. And where were all our attempts at goal? It's like the Premier league and cunt pundits don't want us here, or am I being paranoid?
 
Bullshit biased "highlights." You'd think we'd been battered for 90 mins watching that.

And how the fuck is that a red card!? Contact (if there was any) was minimal. Yellow all day, but never ever a red.
 
The referee (quite correctly) is going to take a lot of stick on this thread. But (sat absolutely level on the touchline in BL upper), I honestly can't describe how bad that linesman was throughout the game.

Throughout the first half he was getting pelters from our end of the ground. Whenever a ball went out he waited for the ref's decision then stuck his flag up. He never committed to a decision. Not once. Every time it was a 50/50 decision the ref got it wrong because the lino couldn't make a decision (not just in our favour, he was equally as wrong when they should have had a decision).

Usually on a foul like that (potential sending off), where the linesman flags, the ref will go over and have a chat with the lino. I've no doubt he didn't do that because the lino was an absolute coward and didn't make a call all game before that foul.
 
I didn't think it was a red until I saw the "highlights", but it clearly was unfortunately. However, that clip isn't representative of the match I saw. The Blades had more of the game than that, for goodness sake.
 
Very Southampton bias and they were a pile of pants. A gifted goal is all they got unfortunately.

I saw this to exactly as you have just said I am bang in line with where it happened on the kop so had a perfect view of it and was 100 percent handball. The southampton player knew it himself and looked straight at the ref as soon as it happened and all the players around him reacted as well don't know how he got away with that one. Not seen it again on any highlights so would like to see it again but looked like a stone wall penalty to me, also thought there was at least one other decent shout for one that got waved on. The VAR wouldn't be a bad system if it actually worked.
 
Those highlights don’t show the Didsy one on one either. Wasn’t the passage of play straight after they hit the post. Probably the best actual highlight of the game and ignored by this and the sky one.

We created some right chances. More clear Than I thought. Fleck even used his right shovel.
 
Spot on again Chris, very honest assessment of the game. We go again.
 
The highlights were wank, it was a much better game than they showed and had a lot more controversy than they showed too.
 
That's not highlights ,that's just the way sky want to spin the game like a tabloid paper does,fuckin annoying.

The Sky 30 minute highlights shows the game better and the second penalty shout we had when Basham was fouled.

You can watch it on Sky catch up. I will post the extended highlights once they are ready.
 
Frustrating watching the extended highlights.

We should have been about 2 up in the first half.

First half I think it was O’Connell who tried to control while getting a nudge in the back. He should have gone down.

Plenty of opportunities to equalise and maybe get more.

Watching those highlights i feel the same as I did yesterday ,we played well enough but missed too many chances
More worrying to me is the statuesque defending for the last 3 goals we've conceeded and we gave them a lot of chances before that by simply not competing for the long balls into the channels they were playing ,I know we are up.against better players but the defending is just not good enough for me and Egan and o connell just don't look to be reacting quick enough to things
Also the amount of aimless headers from Egan under no pressure is a worry but hopefully we can work on things like that and tighten up

Another thing that stood out from those highlights Is how involved mcgoldrick was in every dangerous piece of play we had
