Superb finish by Sharp for the first.
Clinical but risky finish for the 2nd – he had half a goal to aim at and seems to squeeze it through the three bunched together on one side of the goal. But that's the sort of quality you get from League 1's top goalscorer.

Two great, if different, finishes. As everyone else has said, the first is quality, pure and simple, a goalscorer's instincts at their very best. Must add, a lovely lob from Duffy to give Billy the chance to shoot.
As for goal number two, meat and drink to someone like Sharp, something we expect but still worthy of praise for the clinical nature of the execution.

Weren't it ..We all agree Edwards is better than Madden?..I remember the Peterborough manager Peter Morris saying that their striker Carl/ Craig Madden? was better than Edwards...0.4, 4.0 told a different story..Anyways, the scunny chap Morris might be good. But never as good as our Morris..Nor our cartwheeling Billy

That first goal was unbelievably good. The technique needed to hit a lobbed pass from behind on the half volley and keep it down is itself a class above, but to do it from that angle, absolutely brilliant finish from Billy.
Could I even say shades of Van Basten? (Not as good as his volley but the technique used is the same).

We did sing that but Craig Madden played for Bury not Peterborough.
He was Edwards main rival in the top goalscorers chart that season.
Just checked on Wiki and Madden got 35 goals, Edwards got 36.
"We all agree Sharpy is better than Morris" would be a great chant though.

Madden might have been there too but Drinkell (Grimsby) and Gabbiadini (Sunny D) were the ones I remember most. There may have been others too...

(All wiki'd) I was pretty sure I did it for Gabbiadini but I think he got the better of Edwards, not surprising though given he was 10 years younger and probably in a better team. (Then again it may have been when he played for York 85-87)

Good goal but I'm sorry the keeper should be closer to it. Technique is good but the ball does pop up nicely for the shot. The pass is something else however.
Second goal was a head down and get it on target.

I was only thinking yesterday about the last minute equaliser from Keith Edwards at Bury in 1982, in anticipation of Monday's game. That goal was the difference between him getting the Golden Boot and sharing it with Madden.

I bet Sharp wishes he could score two or three "good goals" a season.
I wish I could watch two or three "good goals" like that a season, especially at 0-0 on 72 minutes.

Very much doubt many Blades fans knew about Gabbiadini who was only 18 when Edwards left us. He scored 14 goals for York between 1985 and 1987

I remember the chant, I didn't pick the name out of the air, it's possible he had an early spurt of goals or whatever can't be arsed to look it up but I remember the kop chanting Edwards was better than him (unless I've confused him with a similar sounding player which would be bizarre in the extreme, given his name)
