Hourihane and Egan must have been practising those corners. Me and Mrs G were sat second row, to the left of goal, and for his second Goal, Egan was mouthing and gesturing to Hourihane, as he was placing the ball in the corner. Hourihane sort of gave him a nod, as if it say, "got it" and the next thing , Egan is at the front post, glancing it in, fantastic ball control from Hourihane, to place it perfectly, and fantastic skill from Egan to give the ball the deftest of touches, at speed, to score.
Absolute scenes.
My only criticism would be conceding a goal to a team that cannot score for love nor money. We seem to be a bit lax at the back at times, mid week against Preston was the same, where we seem to have just one bloke back there and pacey strikers right on his shoulders.
Oh, and of course, criticism for the officials; ref letting their players literally grab and cling on to ours at corners, the lino totally missing it when McBurnie shot, at an angle, and their keeper got finger tips to it, to steer it wide, and instead of a corner, they get a goal kick.
Anyway, a great turn out from our fans, creating a cauldron-like atmosphere. A good laugh when Egan scored his first and our fans were singing "mauled by the Tigers, we're being mauled by the Tigers", to a (by that point) very quiet set of Hull fans.
And of course, the timeless classic......
"they're here, they're there, they're every fucking where, empty seats!, empty seats!"
Lovely stuff. UTB.
