Adidas gave some bullshit big bollocks corporate soundbite along the lines of ‘our current style direction’ that meant they fucked oher any team playing in stripes

I thought it was an edict from on high that striped/hooped shirts should have plain backs to make names/numbers legible, which makes sense. Reading have 'compromised' by making their hoops so pissy and washed-out that they blend into a white patch on the back where the name/number is:


Obviously, our shirts should have been a solid red back and the white patch on the front containing Ramsdens Currency is just amateurish. Even if Ramsdens insisted on their corporate green (which they haven't on the goalies shirt), there's no need for the white 'patch':



The sleeves should also be red and the black stripes more prominent. Or they could have just kept/made minor adjustments to last season's shirts and stopped fucking about with it.

Yes. Plenty of other clubs with stripes have them on the back – Adidas just made a stylistic choice for all their striped kits this season.

That's a different template. The stripes are bigger on watfords kit. We have 9 to their 7.
The collars are different too.

The thing is that Watford with a plain yellow black, still looks like Watford because that’s their normal kit.
