2 good assists from Lavery and a proper strikers goal from Billy, love that freeman the rb was in that position for the 3rd especially as we were already winning. Not much could be done about there goal, brilliant strike

It is clear Lavery brings more to the team than Clarke does. He could have had a goal himself.

Anyway it seems like it was good in the stands today:

Freeman scores another 'poachers' goal. Anyone else notice that he was the only one of our players in there to put that third away? Perhaps we've solved our 'who should partner Billy?' or 'who plays when Billy gets injured?'. That's it, get Brayford back in at rwb and stick Freeman up top! ;)

I like Jack O'Connell a lot but could he have closed him down a bit quicker there?

Lavery looks sharp on those highlights. That's a few good contributions in a row now. Hope he keeps his place.

Their goal - stood off. Good strike. Did we not concede a similar one earlier in the season?

Billy's goal - that is what he does. Half a chance/half a yard = he's 75% to convert it

Own goal - it was coming

Freeman - Gerrim up front!

pommpey

3 assists for Lavery if you include him losing the ball in a stupid area for their goal - but looks like he is a threat and probably will be a better option than done or Clarke for the rest of the season

Yep, their goal was mainly Lavery's fault although he should have been closed down better.

Lavery did well today but can do better. Just needs to brush up his control a little bit. Definitely looks like the best partner for Sharp.

Lavery was contender for man of the match, his best game in a united shirt. Fleck was also to blame for the first goal because he game the ball away, when he just needed to bring the ball out of defense and make a simple pass, but gave the ball away, which started there attack. Saying that, Fleck had a decent game overall, without Coutts and Duffy.

Pretty sure it was O'Connell who made the dubious short pass to Lavery, and not Fleck. We shouldn't be passing it short in that area of the pitch in the first place. Suicidal.

A great win today. You just don't feel any anxiety when this team goes behind.

Woodwardfan - Just for you xx

Going behind against Bury is different to going behind at Southend on Saturday but the way every player is 'at it' throughout the game, every player on his toes and plenty of communication all the time ev en in breaks in play, all remind me of a team heading for success. Yesterday was another great 'bonding' session for everyone at the club. I stood just behind the directors who loved every minute. When the fans chanted Wilder's name at the end he pointed at the players and asked them to concentrate on them -imagine Warnock ever doing that!!

Happy New Year Pierre , BTW did you see His Lordship's post on that thread? That's exactly what I was on about -yellow card?

Possible penalty shout for Bury there I think...

He did but it wasn't dubious IMO. Lavery should be more than capable of controlling it and laying it off but he took a poor first touch.
We play a possession based game and you don't retain possession if you don't play out from the back.

Bit harsh on Etuhu giving him the OG. Pretty sure his clearance is going wide before the keeper knocks it in.

Billy's goal says a lot about why he is so crucial. How many other strikers have we had who it's easy to imagine fluffing that oppportunity? As straightforward as Billy made it look, I doubt Clarke for example would have had the instinct and speed to bury that so convincingly.
