Got lucky in the end .

How is that lucky? We have dominated the game and won by not panicking with a very well worked goal. It's the sign of a good team when they keep playing and win games late on.

I am happy tonight, the run continues. We have been spoilt recently with the goal fest, but have to be realistic, teams are not just going to roll over for us. There will be a few more Bury style games along the way.

Well, I won't say it too loud, but it really is starting to look like The Battling Blades are back. Fighting until the very last minute.

"...the thing is, with my lads, they never know when they've been beaten..." Neil Warnock

I think Sir Christopher John Wilder may be looking at that famous quote tonight, and smiling....................

If we don't sign EEL, we are fucked.

The bloke is way above this league and its this kind of player we need.

You listening, McCabe?

pommpey

Thank fuck EEL took the initiative tonight, because him and Fleck aside, nobody can take much credit from this.

Yes I went beserk when we scored, and I'm fucking chuffed with the victory, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a very disjointed display. We won't be playing relegation dogfight sides with 9 men forever....

You really don't like Paul Coutts do you o_O

I think this was the game for a big, strong, marauding midfielder to run straight down the middle of the field and into the box, rather than continually try to fire crosses in from the wings. They packed out the box and they were big lads, they dealt with just about everything coming in from the air.

Lavery and Chapman mixed it up with some pace, and we did finally score.

As always, I will take a 1-0 win and three points every day of the week.

Stefan Scougall has been assisting and scoring for quite some time (4 consecutive goals prior to this game). But seeing him get any recognition on this board is like getting shit out of a rocking horse.

Yeah Coutts did well for the goal, very well actually. I hope it continues throughout the season.

Well taken goal from EEL.

Them two subs were great and point taken about a big strong midfielder not someone who neshes tackles and almost gave them a goal because of it. No one will remember that though.

Scougall is a great asset and should have stayed on and the bloke who finally made a good pass should have been taken off.
Let's hope his games for the rest of the season are better than that.

Absolutely right. A moment of match-winning quality from a proper footballer. He and Fleck are made for each other (not forgetting Duffy - get well soon...)

Freeman as well, get well soon lad

If, as you appear to be, you are talking about Paul Coutts, I have seldom heard such garbage. If not, my apologies.

Paul Coutts, who could easily have suffered a broken leg not neshing a tackle in Saturday, gave yet another classy, composed performance. He's a proper player and a delight to watch.

Which is what makes Coutts' build up even better, instead of just desperately hammering it into the box at the first opportunity.

Having heard several hundred idiots screaming "shoot" or "hit it" every time we got within 40 yards of goal. Not the brightest fans in the land...

Funny that as 3 of Charlton's 5 goals from last night were (speculative) shots from distance!

On a side note, based on comment of us playing in black against Chesterfield (in blue!), Charlton played in an all blue kit last night against a Rovers team in blue and white!? I don't get it!

magic moment. you got to feel for bury mind, they must've thought they'd pulled off a legendary historic 0-0 draw...

I should also add;
And just look how many times have we been beaten by a long range shot???

I thought that was down to the poor quality of our previous goalkeepers?
On tv, every long-range shot ends in the goal.
In reality, attacking teams don't usually get anything back from a long-range shot, you're just surrendering possession.
