Half that team ended up playing for us:
Hunt
Bennet
Devlin
Furlong
Bruce.

Was that the game when it was absolute carnage after on London Road?
I remember seeing a Sierra full being rocked by around 15 kids just by the Sheldon. A big brummie tried to get out but got slapped and thought better of it.
I think it could have been. I remember Gary Ablett getting dogs abuse all game. If I remember rightly had been on loan with us the previous season then turned us down to go to Brum. Might be my memory mind

Something like ‘there’s only one greedy bastard’ as far as I recall.

My first ever Blades game was against Brum in April 71...won 3-0...same again please.

Wow, what a starter for 10.

I am absolutely the antithesis of Silent/Rev/Dazzler in that I remember several games of the hundreds I've seen and barely recall 95% of them. This fits in the 5% almost entirely due to a diving header from the late (and great) Gilbert Reece that I will have imprinted in my mind until the Alzheimers kicks in, and even then will probably still be vivid in my lucid moments. One of my favourite ever goals (and players).

If we can get at them early and score, as we did against their nearest and dearest then I see us beating them. For a team who can't score, going behind so early in a game against a free flowing attacking team such as us will completely drain their confidence.

If however we let them get into a rhythm then it will be a tough match, and one where both teams might struggle to take their chances.

As an optimist I will go with the first scenario. 2-0 [Sharp and Egan].
