I wonder if I can get an away season ticket for next year instead of the home one ;)

It's a good record, I'm very impressed with it.

We've rode our luck on some (well, many) occassions but we've done well. I wish we were that resilient at home!

Nice table.

What worrys me more is, imagine if our porcine neighbours had got a few more results on the road, they'd be much closer to us in the actual table, 12th in the actual league, but fourth bottom away!

No doubt our away form has been fantastic and the team and staff should be commended; it makes it all the more frustrating that we cant seem to hit the same heights at BDTBL.

i think it does have a lot to do with the high expectations at home and how easily our fans get impatient.

I disagree completely.

The fans haven't been that bad this season; sporadic outbreaks of jeering or shouting at best. Even if they had been bad, I still disagree with the notion that negativity from the fans makes the players play that much worse.

The fans become negative because the game is being played badly, not the other way round. In my opinion, of course.

Undoubtedly; and then the grumbles of the season going down the pan become a self fulfilling prophecy.

I was hoping for at least one high profile signing in January to lift the fans spirits but we went the opposite way and let the biggest hero go which was always going to fan the flames.

Maybe a decent loan signing in the coming weeks will lift the mood around the place.

we shall see. i'm not saying it's all the Home fans fault, i just feel it is one of the contributary factors

JUst as a side point to these stats, looking into the home form of various clubs, its interesting to see that Hull are bottom of the pile when it comes to home form!!! could this be an omen :D

The fans may play a part in the bad home form, but the way I see it - Negative football = Negative atmosphere.

Exacto mundo...
What about the atmosphere against the pigs..?
A goal down after 1 minute and the crowd was numbed.
It's a vicious circle, play well and we respond.

Maybe a different story, just visiting 5 or 6 home matches in a season. First thing I do when I arrive at Sheffield is check in in my hotel and walk to Bramall Lane, just cause that s the place I wanna be, the place that is the reason for my journey. Visiting a match at Bramall Lane sometimes make me have tears in my eyes, just because it s soo wonderfull I am there that moment. During match I sometimes don t understand why soo many people around me are soo negative about everything. Makes me wonder if I would be the same if I would lif in or near Sheffield. And yes, I was very surprised when I did not hear someone positive in their shouts to the team when they were 0-1 down vs the pigs, just like last year, when we went 0-2 down just after halftime. Last time I can remenber there was a wonderfull atmosphere at the Lane was in april and may 2007. West Ham and Wigan....

Personally i think the dour brand of hoofball we now seem to be playing seems more suited to scratching out points away from home than it does getting wins at home.

I was down at Plymouth on saturday, and yes we did extend the winning run, but more importantly the game was awful, and a draw was probably the right result in a game between two sides who didn't have the nous or skill to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

At the moment my gut feeling is we now look like a side who are destined to tail off towards the end and ending up mid-table

I always find the atmosphere is better when there is a lower gate I remember when getting 18,000 was good but the atmosphere was better when there was 16,000. I thought the atmosphere was better against Hull the other week.

I enjoy away games more because of the atmosphere simply because there is less of us. I'm not trying to start the 'bigger blade' debate but away day fans are the ones there through good times and bad, they make an effort and have more passion than the ones who only turn up at Bramall Lane when we are having a good run. And the ones who only turn up when we are on a good run start getting negative when things go wrong more easily than the ones who have seen worse times.
