Slightly surprised where they've managed to cram the ground in (although probably not as surprised as people who apply for Coventry University and end up in Scarborough), but it's very handy for the station and just round the corner from some great pubs on the way down to the beach.

Pleasant surprise though if you were expecting to have to live in Coventry.

How far is that away from town centre?.

It's not a million miles away from the old ground (if you ever visited), although it's on the other side of a the main train track into the town, so (it looks like, unless they're building a bridge?) you'll have to travel around a bit to get it to it.

It's not that far from the station. 5 or 10 minute walk. If going on the train for a day out you'd probably want to turn left out of the station and walk up to Falsgrave, there's a ton of pubs up there, and it's a stones throw from the new ground.

The more discerning drinker (i.e. ones who like a nice pint of real ale and doesn't chuck smoke bombs around in pubs) might want to head down to The Angel Inn. It's a bit out of the way, but is worth the venture, it's the best pub in the town for me and one I make a point of visiting when there. Even further away, a bit more "spit and sawdust", the North Riding Brew Pub near the North Bay usually has a massive selection of ales on.

I'd like to go to this. Hopefully it won't clash with Tramlines!! (edit: NM, it's the week before).

Thought the new ground was going to be near to the Brid-Scarboro coast road, near the uni campus? Pity the game wasn't a couple of weeks earlier when the cricket's on, or even a month earlier when the Charlatans are playing the outdoor theatre. Another new ground to tick off ... count me in :)

Tried getting tickets from address posted on the link, couldn't find the fucker - anyone had any joy?

What's the funny shaped building? Indoor ski slope ?
