The best thing to do, is take someone else's service they run at a massive loss and use it to get customers and free advertising.

Whilst I admire your selflessness in running this site and not trying to make money out out it, people like this guy are just taking the piss.

Why not post some prominent notice that anyone using the site to advertise commercially* must donate at least, say, £50 to the site (and thats a bloody cheap rate) and ban anyone who breaches that?

* this would not include people selling off spare tickets at cost price etc, merely those who are, like this guy "entrepeneurs".

That precedent is probably me...

I donate £1 from every sale initiated through S24SU.com to the forums running costs and any advertisement is done so with Foxy 's blessing.

It hasn't resulted in much (around a tenner I think?!) but just for transparency, it equates to about 15% of the profit that I've made via plugging on this forum.

Whoosh indeed... missed that one (I'll blame rushing off to work, but not really)

The criticisms are fair, I wasn't totally comfortable posting here but hoped I wouldn't upset too many people. I do see myself as more of a fan than an 'entrepreneur' but like many public service workers my job is on the line so I thought I may give my design 'hobby' a go. I can't actually see myself making much cash but the site donation is more than fair and I'm happy to be transparent about any costs / profits etc.

Apologies if I upset anyone. True I'm a new member, and I did sign up with this stuff in mind, but as my intro post stated long time reader and longer time fan.
