Nice to see we get to welcome the Irish lump of lard back while its still fresh in the mind

QPR Home second game :)

Bloody hell, Norwich on 28th December is a fair hike.

Nice to see that as yet, there aren't any ridiculous Tuesday night games throughout the rest of the year.

Not sure about Swansea for the last game though!

two certanties in my life, I am not going to the first or last game of the season.

It does mean that my new grounds for this season (cup games besides) are sorted on the first day :)

Didn't get to Cardiff last season with it being a midweeker.

At least we don't start the season at home to Dagenham & Redbridge, how shit must that be?

I noticed the Norwich game on Dec 28th, I'm sure with a plethora of teams within a 50 mile radius of t'lane they could have found a slightly better holiday fixture than that one. Also, why do we keep getting these long distance away games on the last day of the season?

We had Southampton in 08, Palace 09, Ipswich 10 and now Swansea in 2011.

At least we are home on Boxing Day, that's always a bugbear for me.

nice one - there's about 10 away games I can get to this year (before life and SKY schedules get in the way of course)

Tough start in august but I think that's a good thing as it will test United and give us an idea of what to expect over the course of the season. Three promotion contenders in Cardiff, QPR and Boro. I would settle for 5 points from those - I would be delighted with 7!

Being away on the first and last day is a little unfair IMO but its luck of the draw I suppose and we have to play those fixtures at some time.

I cant imagine Paddy and Warnock are looking forward to their first away game, but knowing Warnock as I do, I doubt he will even field Paddy in that one - he hasnt got the bottle. If he surprises me and does start him, he's in for a torrid time. I hope he does as I cant wait to see him stand in front of the kop.

Come on you red and white wizaaaaaaaardzzzzz!

The fixtures are another failure by the club I'm afraid, perhaps we were looking at the St Leger again.

By the way, can someone tell me when the steel city derbies are???? I cant seem to find them on the fixtures.......... ;)

:D

August 25th Bladesway ;-)

Failure in what sense Len? Failure in that United have to play every club in the division at home and away??

Anyone else think this is a great opportunity to kick off with some decent points on the board?

Cardiff - Playoff hangover, key players leaving (ledley, maybe chopra)
Qpr - good incentive to beat these, crowd will be well up for this, warnock, the ever loyal paddy kenny.
Middlesborough - tough game, i personally think these will win the division, be happy with a draw.
Preston - club in financial ruin, and not exactly a great squad, we always seem to do well against them.

10 points for me, come on bladesmen!!

I think its shocking! Away 1st and last again....and to Wales both times - piss take!

Meanwhile wednesday get home for both again...and get to start with a thumping of Dag and Red!....you can smell the conspiracy a mile away!

You could well be right about some of that. Certainly with Cardiff, they'll still be reeling from the disappointment. Its a tough start but it will ensure United prepare properly and will get our players on their toes from the off. Warnock will typically come and try to make it difficult for us but its a good game to have because the fans will be well up for it. I think they will be more worried about that game than us anyway.

Who needs Abramovich.....we've got Bogdanovic!!!! :D

Failure as in we should not be away first and last yet again. That they're both in South Wales is pathetic.
We had a ridiculous excuse last season but our officials have clearly failed again. It costs the club money and isn't good enough.

I know you will go to great lengths and leave no stone unturned to find a stick to beat the club with Len but you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one. It would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic.

Anyway, won't you be at Hillsboro on the first day of the season, cheering on one of your local teams?
