When we beat Arsenal 1-0 in the 3rd round replay in 1996, Linighan was on the bench for Arsenal. He was warming up on the South Stand touchline near the Kop and many people (including me) stood up and clapped him, and were chanting his name. Linighan clearly thought it was funny and raised his arms in acknowledgment.

It may have happened in his other appearances at the Lane but it definitely happened that night.

I can tell you it wasn't that one for me because I was deemed too young to go. I remember waking up when my Dad got back, he told me the score and I promptly fell asleep again. In the morning, I assumed I must have dreamt it!

It definitely happened in a later game after he'd left Arsenal, as well.
