I had a hunch his Blackpool career overlapped Armfield... Budgie's third appearance was Armfield's last.

Garry Flitcroft played with Burridge at Man City in 1995 but his spell with us coincided with Sharp being at Scunthorpe. That put me onto Beagrie, who also played with Burridge at Man City, as well as for us.

I'm guessing that as Gordon Banks was part of the Stoke City that just missed the return of Matthews you could route it in a similar way to PaniniBlade
Matthews' last game February 1965. Banks left Leicester for Stoke in summer 1967.

I did try to work out from Matthews to Sharp. Thought of John Ritchie who scored in Matthews' last game. Richie played with Shilton at Stoke but couldnt find the link between Shilton and Sharp so I gave up

This game is so open ended you could just about link anybody.

If you tried hard enough you could get from Fatty Foulke to Daniel Jebbison.

Johan Cruyff to Kean Bryan.

- Cruyff played with Marco van Basten at Ajax

- Marco van Basten played with Dennis Bergkamp at Ajax

- Dennis Bergkamp played with Gus Uhlenbeek at Ajax

- Gus Uhlenbeek played with Phil Jagielka at Sheffield United

- Phil Jagielka played with Kean Bryan at Sheffield United

These can be a bit of fun and a welcome distraction from the end of the world.

The way it works is you have to get from one player to another via player connections, so you think of a player you want to end with and a player to start with and try to find connections until you land on that initial player. It's classic reverse engineering (said in a Partridge voice).

Here is an example:

Ryan Giggs to Oli McBurnie

- Ryan Giggs played with Paul Pogba (at Manchester Red)

- Paul Pogba played with Gianluigi Buffon (at Juventus)

- Gianluigi Buffon played with Fernando Llorente (at Juventus)

- Fernando Llorente played with Oli McBurnie (at Swansea)

another example would be:

Lionel Messi to David McGoldrick

- Lionel Messi plays with Angel Di Maria (for Argentina)

- Angel Di Maria played with David De Gea (at Manchester Red)

- David De Gea plays with Dean Henderson (at Manchester Red)

- Dean Henderson played with David McGoldrick (at Yooonited)

Please feel free to set your own in this thread.

To kick off can you get from Raul to Chris Basham?
Number Wang’s easier than that

Obviously, but the interesting/difficult part is doing it in as few links as possible.

Not much fun just listing loads of players who overlapped at the same club.

Point taken.

Another way to make it more interesting would be if you went from one player to another and then back to the original player but via a different route.

Some of you are very good at this . Could someone please do me Paul Thirwell to a bollard ?

Shouldn’t be too difficult .

Sounds good.

Any sort of limitation makes it much more interesting, for example Tony Currie to Billy Sharp but you're not allowed to use any Blades links, ie the next step after TC can't be a Blades teammate and likewise the step before Billy, or any link in between.

Carlos Valderrama to Louis Reed.
I'm not 100% on this one but..

Carlos Valderrama played with John Spencer at Colorado Rapids

John Spencer (I believe) played with Steve Simonson at Everton

Steve Simonson played with Harry Maguire

Harry Maguie played with Louis Reed

Dean Hammond was wank,

Shit, not really thought this one through....

Could have also gone John Spencer to Lee McCulloch (Motherwell), then McCulloch to Fleck (Rangers) - Fleck and Reed were both at SUFC in 2016-17, though Reed only played one game in the JPT.
