Interesting! Always assumed Adams would be No.2 choice.

I am still abit neither or there about Scott, however since the news earlier in the day about S'OD I have to admit I am not particularly too bothered if it's not for us. 85% think of us wanted him, however I am pretty sure that everyone one of us still having a little doubt about it, however faint it is
Scott emerged at the tail end of the 92/93 season, so he'd have been alongside Pembo then.
Some interesting fan comments from them. Scott is ambitious (a bit arrogant apparently) and a few months back quite a few were calling for him to go - he didn't, and they're now in decent form. One interesting comment was re: his contact - seems to be a 1 year rolling deal. I don't think they could expect much compensation if this is the case.
This. It's like considering marrying Penelope Cruz, knowing she can't cook and leaves her toenail cuttings on the arm of the sofa.
Well maybe a manager does need a little arrogance as long as the players believe in him, Jose isn't short I suppose
I nearly tripped him up when I was mascot for the Chelsea game in 1993. He kicked his ball to me as he ran out to warm up and I got a bit flustered and star struck and absolutely whacked it back at him, instead of just laying it off for him to run on to. He did well to control it! I'm still incredibly embarrassed remembering that 17 years later.
Met him when I was 11 - got a tour of the club in the relegation season and still have the picture of me alongside Scott and Roger Nilsen. Seemed a friendly approachable guy.
Was that the 4-2 goalfest at the end of the season in 1993, or the freezing 1-0 win in November ?
What if they are talking to Scott as a number 2...............?
Cheap option yet again no doubt a yes man who will never get a job offer like this in his life. I am guessing SoD wanted a bit of cash for new players which united won't give.
The only time I've seen Brentford play was on telly against the pigs earler this season. Thought they were fast, strong and direct...better than the opposition that day anyway which was good
The trouble Birch has is that if he cannot find the right man with championship experience(club won't release him, manager not want the job),he will have no option but to look lower down the pecking order for which he will be roundly critisized if the man man doesn't fit exactly the criteria Birch set even thouh he had no option.
It might come down to two choices(i hope not) Carver or Scott

Wouldn't surprise me if we get Carver until the end of the season whilst we are trying to find "The Man". That wouldn't be a bad option as long as in the end, we do get "The Right Man"
As to who the right man is - maybe SO'D would be a contender at the the end of the season but not now.
