Dangerous, dangerous app and we should distance ourselves from it.

The club are active enough and well represented on a number of social media platforms, sufficient enough for people to maintain a high level of contact with the club, without the need for a tik tok account.

It's very popular with 10-14s (or was at my school anyway). Might be good for reaching them, as few use Twitter. Always good to get young fans in!

It also bans LGBT and Hong Kong content because China told them to.

Never heard of it but thanks to those posting the warnings as I have a 13 year old with internet access.

I try to keep abreast of what apps he uses and I've not heard or seen him use this but I'll check it out.

I think it's brilliant, very forward thinking. Most football fans probably won't even know what Tik Tok is yet - it's only been around for a year in the UK. Our social media team has been incredible in recent times and I'm really pleased to see they're getting ahead of this particular curve.

I don't understand why everyone shits themselves about Tik Tok, it's very popular here in Asia and 95% of it is just teenage-mid 20s girls doing stupid dances and copying whatever the latest "trend" is. The content is mind numbing, to be honest, there's only a couple of things that I find mildly amusing. But I'm a 37 year old white man, so of course I would say that - Tik Tok isn't supposed to be for me. But it has half a billion worldwide users, so why wouldn't we want to utilise such a tool to build a global brand?

It's a no-brainer for me. All the kids are on it, get them engaged BEFORE they are earning their own money so that when they are, they want to become proper supporters who'll spend their disposable income on merchandise and going to matches. Get the name out there globally to make us more attractive to investors, sponsors etc. Keep up the brilliant work, Blades social media team.

As for concerns about data privacy - literally every social platform is a risk in that way, Tik Tok is no more or less of a threat.

Like Huawei and Alibaba, the people who own it will do what the PRC government tells them.

Kids do grow up you know.. they no longner use Facebook, I’m 33 and I’ve not used it 4 years.. Twitter is on the decline too. Why shouldn’t we use TikTok? Worth using even if it’s to carry on with the @sheffieldunited handle
