Yes I think it was, but couldn't be sure. Just checked and you were right, Jose "Pepe" Reina.

So let's have that picture in here, our first game back in the top flight, and took the lead over Liverpool, Rob Hulse scores against Liverpool (and Spain) goalkeeper, Jose Reina!

I remember we were singing 'we are top of the league' after that goal...which we were - it being the first game of the season and an early kickoff.

If not for Gerrard's dive and the Referee awarding it (for "intent", as he later back tracked after admitting no contact took place), we would have stayed up!

We scored against some of this lot. Lost 2-1 and they played at a gentle cantor, but we scored!

Just found the team that played against us:

1: Ubaldo Filliol; 2: Roberto Perfumo; 3: Pablo Cosellos; 4: Eduardo Saporiti; 5: Reinaldo Merlo; 6: Daniel Passarella; 7: Pedro Gonsales; 8: Victor Merchati; 9: Leopoldo Luque; 10: Norberte Alonso; 11: Oscar Ortiz
Daniel Passarella, Ubaldo Fillol, Leopoldo Luque and Oscar Ortiz played in the 1978 World Cup final. Nortberto Alonso played in the group match against Hungary.

I hadnt realised until I saw your post that Roberto Perfumo played for River Plate against us in the 1978 friendly. He played for Argentina against England in that infamous 1966 World Cup quarter final match. He was Argentina's captain for the 1974 World Cup. He is seen below shaking hands with Johan Cruyff before the start of the 1974 quarter final match

Great pic of a pig fan playing against barcelona

I met Gary Cahill in Portugal a couple if years ago. Obviously I asked him why he was a pig. He told me he wasn't. Said he wasn't interested in watching football as a kid and didn't support anyone. He said he follows both our results now. He was a decent youth to be fair. No billy big bollox.

Was always a Wednesday fan as a kid, but never really hardcore. He's married into a big Blades family though, and with him having played for us, I could understand him having a soft spot for both clubs.

I haven't seen him since he moved to London.
