Completely agree, too much betting focus IMHO.

Just listened to the first few minutes, and apparently the result flattered us, because our xvg was .98. Appreciate the game has changed and that expected goals and the such is now an important factor for a lot of people, but don’t come and tell me that 4-1 flattered us. Could (and probably should) have been 6-1 or more.

I did try and correct that at the end!! plus their xG model they refer too isn't the only one about and mine had us a bit higher!

I think George and Ali do a fantastic job, one of my fave podcasts because they do look at things like shot data and xG. It's something media should be looking at and don't. Unfortunately in this instance yes we didn't create a bucket load of chances but it doesn't tell story of the game. The intensity, the pressing and the overall dominance which could be seen by the eyes is not there in the data. As i always say, eyes first, stats second!

Yep just listened to the last ten minutes where you corrected them! Even so, to say we were at all flattered, is just 100% wrong, regardless of the expected goals for each team.
