Just been reading Paddy Kenny’s book (good work btw stringer) and in it he mentioned how Phil Barnes is a massive Blade, which is something I didn’t know.

It got me thinking about other fans who have played for us. The obvious ones are the likes of Dane Whitehouse, Chris Wilder, Billy Sharp and Jimmy Muir.

Suspect most will be players who’ve come through the academy but who else is there?

The more obscure the better.

Walker, Naughton, Lawton, Maguire,Bradshaw,Mitch ward,

Can't remember if Bradshaw was a Pig or Blade as he played for both?

Edit: Stewy has just answered.

Do coaching staff count. Use to go and watch the Blades with Johnny Dungworth in the late 60s before he got signed on by Huddersfield Town in their hay day in League 1 (now Prem ). He was a Blades fan.
Not sure if he played for the Blades but almost certain he is on the black 125 year commerative shirt. His wiki page says not but sure he is on that shirt.

Was lee morris , curtis woodhouse,I think a Liverpool fan blades .. I know curtis is blade now , think monty was Leeds could be wrong...

unfortunately the truth is a lot more boring. He used the phrase "hand bags" to describe a bit of fisty cuffs and has been suspended.
Don't get me wrong here because I'm on Tommi's side here, but it's also alleged he made reference to the referee's wife and suggested one player should wear a skirt, which is more than enough to put the PC mob into melt down in this climate.
Maybe Boris should appoint a Minister of Common Sense to save us all
