Does it seem that the fans around where you sit at the Lane are a little blinkered? It does to me. Certainly from the reactions to certain players and the decent pass or tackle/balls-up ratio and the crowd booing.
What I am getting at is that the crowd are a lot more forgiving of some players than they are of others.
For example, the crowd seem more forgiving of Naughton than, say, Naysmith, and certainly Monty.
So why can Naughton get away with some bad tackles and passing, yet one misplaced pass from Monty after a whole load of tackles and passes has certain sections of the crowd screaming for his head on a pole? Is it because Naughton is a Blade, and Monty is from Leeds? Monty has certainly played for the club more, but why does Naughton "get away" with mistakes that aren't forgiven when another player makes one?
This isn't a dig at Naughton, far from it, it's more a go at those in the crowd who have their blinkers on during a match. Those who would boo Monty if he missed a sitter for his hat-trick.
