"Blades fans are fickle..."

What you have to remember is that right now, this is the best position the clunb has ever been in, financially.

We all have a right to expect good things at the moment and with all the spiel that has come out of McCabes and Robsons mouths we are only following the expectations they have set us.

And so are Scunny. There is hardly a director/manager in the country who wouldn't pitch their club above the position they find themselves in. They're hardly going to say "Well, we thought we'd finish bottom, so only being second bottom is a moral victory really." are they? We have no right to expect anything really, and this is my point about the fickleness of the fans.

Voicing an opinion is fine. Doing it loudly, possibly better, if done at the right time. But in our second match of the league season, some sections of the crowd were booing. It was the second league match under a new manager, following relegation, and after the most turbulent close season in the club's history.

Now tell me that it's ok to boo the players in mid-August? This is the sort of behaviour that we used to chastise the pigs about, and that's what I hate to see at Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane.

At the end of the day for some reason McCabe loves Robson, I think he got suckered in with the 'Captain Marvel' bollox. McCabe has wanted a 'big name' manager for a while now and seems blinded by his player status.

I think it was half that, and half that there were ferk all other options.

What would you like us to do, just become a set of plastic fans who clap at everything and never complain?

Don't be daft mate, but the sort of attitude that was being shown by a growing minority of the fans wasn't just fickle, but downright disruptive at times. Vociferous criticism can be productive, when reasoned and constructive (or as reasoned and constructive as the Kop gets :D), but some wazzock who's probably hardly ever been at a match giving the lads a load of shit because we'd just gone 2-1 down to Manure ......... come on.

No we are a set of very passionate fans, we are one of the most passionate fans about and that's why you get so many people with high expectations, it's just cos they love the club so much they just get a bit too involved.

Well we certainly agree about the passion that we generate and show, but I certainly don't think that's what engenders high expectations; if anything, it's the reverse :D.

What we all have to remember is that, despite the club thriving financially etc., we have had a total of FIVE seasons in the top flight in 32 years (including this season), including six in the bottom two divisions. Yes, hopes are high, but some in the ground seem to banging on like we have a divine right to be in the top flight.

But if you don't like it then I guess I'll see you walking up and down the isles smacking people.

I said I'd wanted to, meaning 'felt like'; I wouldn't do it. Oh, you know what I mean ;)

LOL, I know mate ;)

Well put anyway.

I may seem a little OTT but I never boo players when they are on the pitch, I may sigh in disbelief when a striker misses from 2 yards or a defender makes a sloppy mistake and costs us a goal, but never boo, that is not right.

There's always gonna be people who hardly go to matches then when they do think they are right on everything, usually known as nobheads or cunts to me :D But you get them at every club.

I'd still rather have fans like ours than fans from a lot of other clubs.

End of the day though we are probably the wealthiest club in this division and if we can spend 4M on a striker we are a cut above the rest, so obviously there has to be more expectation at our club than most others.

No worries Blade, I get a bit OTT too, but I tend not to sigh, but just hold my head in my hands and shake it. Occasionally I may be heard to shout "Oh for the love of God (TM)" too.

Or something like that :D.

True, and true. It still doesn't stop me thinking they're the sputum filled scrotal sac of a Pig fan though.

And a club which has had the most interrupted pre-season ever. We probably SHOULD be up there, but I'd never EXPECT United to be there.

We don't do expectation :D
