Driving down Parkway last night at 8 ish and saw SUFC team bus.

Assumed the youth team had been playing and got battered at Kidderminster youth or somat like that.

Transpires this morning that it was our lot coming back from a day of driving Porsches round Silverstone. Sounds like Blackwell has dusted down his 30 year old coaching manual and read that one of these new fangled driving days guarantees you an extra 5 points a term. Can't generate any real team spirit by his own leadership or results so might as well spend thousands on a day out, fair play to him.

Sky were there and decent clips on News this morning. Nice to see Kozluk refer to us as 'Sheffield'. Ellis said hope to get 3 more in. Nozzer said his driving was cool and calm just like his defending - with a huge tongue in cheek, good stuff. Boggy seemed proud of his speeding tickets and kept talking about the responsibility of playing for SUFC as if he'd signed for biggest club in the world, good stuff again.

What do you mean as if?

Nowt wrong wi a bit of team building Mic me old spadge!? Come on, everyone loves it when the office/garage/yard/plant pays for you and your colleagues to go out bowling for the evening!? ;)

Perhaps King Kev has finally changed his management style!? :P I remember Warnock taking the lads hiking in the dales in our promotion season 05/06.

Ahhh you can't resist it can you Mic! Any chance to get that dig in.... :)

So thats a Porsche challenge and a biking challenge around the Dams.

I can't see any negatives from a team building point of view on any of these things.

Crikey Even Ollesendro has started to waiver from his stance on Blackie :) What will Mic, Torrix and Fiery make of this?

Steady on now!!! I'll be up there packing his bags for him if there is the slightest hint that he'll be leaving. Unfortunately it is more resingation that whilst the wage bill keeps dropping, players keep getting sold (all with KB bending over and saying "yes Mr McCabe") and the team hoofing around in mediocrity the board will not sack him.

Yeah yeah Olle....I'll be on "Olle watch" in the next couple of weeks to check for further signs of Blackwell loving

Out of interest, Who's been sold this summer with KB bending over and saying "yes Mr McCabe"?

We haven't got much saleable assetts,

not big money assetts, but you look at Monty, Morgs, Cresswell, Ward, Hendo, Ched and Paddy - all would be in demand and apart from Paddy where I believe we were shafted by the greedy twat, the rest remain at the club. On the same note, Paddy has been sold but replaced with a more than adequate replacement.

So in terms of Blackie being a yes man to player sales, there will have been opportunities to sell/ let go some of these.

I get the impression that this summer things have changed and rather than KB bending over when McCabe/ Birch come knocking, the 3 of them have worked together for the best of the club without allowing sales to become detrimental to the 1st team

We haven't got much saleable assetts,

We haven't got any.

Kenny and Sharp sold. That's nearly £3m in the coffers.

Ward/Henderson/Williamson must prove fitness before being sold.
Evans needs to get some form to get anywhere near our money back.

Yeates/Quinn only two saleable items (i.e. in excess of £500k) this summer still around.

not big money assetts, but you look at Monty, Morgs, Cresswell, Ward, Hendo, Ched and Paddy

Monty - couldn't even give him away
Morgs/Cresswell - too old to fetch a fee in today's climate
Ward/Hendo - not fit enough to be sold
Ched - Could only sell at big loss

Never a realistic option to "sell" any of them

And Hendo is of course a cert sale as soon as he's fit.

I don't agree Grecian, I think that teams would've been interested in all at the right price. I'm not saying we're no longer a selling club, but I think we've moved (slightly) away from sell to first interested party philosophy of last season.

I also think we've done what we can to guard against losing our better players

And Hendo is of course a cert sale as soon as he's fit.

Perhaps, but I think it'll be one out one in

Sharp - missed him off my original list, but looks like we held out for better money for him and with Billy I think we got Boggy in

This has already been answered by Robbie and Grecian.

Ever the optimist Swiss. The simple fact is that our best players are too old or not fit enough otherwise they'd be shifted on if we could get anything over a mill for them.

Since KB has been in charge we've sold BT, 2 Kyle's, Killa, Tongue and Sharp, all for decent (if not big) money and brought in inferior replacements (Shapr maybe the exception). He's also got rid of a host of high earners (obviosuly on McCabe's instructions).

If you tott up the money we've made from selling players under KB and compare it to what we've spent (it's in a post somewhere but I can't find it) then there is a massive surplus.

Hope the three trialists did well behind the wheel, cos it was their last chance to impress following 15 mins at Burton and one days training. ;)

We'd be able to get 500k for Morgs easily.

Is Blackie a "yes" man regarding sales or a "well, I haven't got much choice if you're selling him, have I?" man? Just a thought....

Blackie is like most of us managers.

There is always someone from above telling you how to 'manage' it and what you're going to get to 'manage' it with.
