Blades 2 (Reece, Addison) Preston 0

My first match as a committed Blade! My dad did take me to a few games before that. He said my first ever game was against Blackpool which was before he took me to watch Spain v Switzerland World Cup match at S6 in 1966 but I have no recollection of both matches. I have a vague memory of being in the BLUT cheering our goal that was scored at the Lane End and a bald player (must have been Bill Punton) running over to congratulate the scorer but I dont know who the opponents were. i was at the west germany v switzerland game silent on pigs kop 5 - 0 beckenbauer was unplayable he ran the game from start to finish mind what i saw he did bloody great big german banners all over the place lol

I remember the day very well. My dad took me to watch Wendy for the first time (although he took me to Spain v Switzerland at S6 in the 1966 World Cup group match but I dont remember the occasion as I was only 4 at the time). Wendy were winning 2-0 but Ipswich fought back to draw the match. The electronic scoreboard gave score updates at Boothferry Park. Brilliant comeback by United!
 
Was at this game. Remember getting surrounded by Spurs fans after celebrating the third goal. Happy days. Remember the ground being as empty as a Hillsborough.
