The Blades have confirmed the dates and opposition of their 2007/08 pre-season tour.

Bryan Robson's first build-up sees United travel to Ireland on both sides off the border, where the Blades will play three fixtures in a week long tour.

United will begin their trip in Northern Ireland with a fixture against Irish Premier League outfit Newry City at The Showgrounds on Saturday 21 July.

Three days later Robson's men visit Flancare Park to play Longford Town from the League of Ireland, which may provide the Quinn brothers with a chance to play in their homeland.

The tour ends on Saturday 28 July against Portadown FC, whose home ground is Shamrock Park in County Armagh, N Ireland. They finished fourth in the Irish Premier League last season

United believe these fixtures, against good class opposition, will provide an ideal preparation ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

These tour fixtures are in addition to the visit to Rotherham United and the home game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 4 August.
