Should be today - should be extremely amusing.

When Matthew Spring left us I drank a toast to the back of arguably the worst midfielder I have ever seen playing for a club with the kind of hopes and expectations we had last term. His performance against Reading in particular will live long in the memory.

I thought never again would I have to watch such a washed up nobody playing for my beloved Blades, who openly said in an interview in the matchday publication 'one of my main weaknesses is I allow people to walk all over me.'

Then, all of a sudden, along came Ryan France.

You cant have been watching The Blades long if you thinkSpring is the worst you've seen(too early to assess france).

What about Longhorn ? Hunt? Hamilton? along with Franks,Keely(when they played in there) and Dempsey(the original non tackling midfielder.)

In what way should the press conference be 'amusing' ?

France played well last game. I've never known a player who was so highly appreciated by his previous club's supporters get written off so quickly at BL.

You've never heard of BT then?
No not that one the other one. :)

Got to agree with that - he could turn out to be shite, but give the lad a chance to at least prove it!

Been watching em plenty long enough to remember most things from 1982 onwards. What I mean is that with the club in reasonable shape, with high expectations and assets relative to others in CCC, I don't expect to be watching the likes of Spring and now France. Hunt and Hamilton far better than Spring in my opinion if we are talking about supposed second teir footballers.

I personally will find press conference amusing because it will be excuse after excuse for a situation largely brought on by himself for building a squad with loan players and signing players like Reid and Taylor who he doesn't really rate.

Hunt and Hamilton better than Spring? I once saw Spring touch the ball which in my estimation puts him about either of the other two lumps.

Has always been the way though, I remember Graham Stuart getting pelters from all and sundry when he played for us. Could never understand it because I thought he was excellent. Almost slotted the kid behind me on the Kop when he said he hoped Stuart would miss a penalty. Aforementioned scrote moved sharpish when the ball went in and hid behind his mates.

Point is, it seems many Blades like to have a scapegoat. If it isn't John Gannon it's Bob Booker, Graham Stuart, Monty, Tonge, Cresswell, Quinn, Kilgallon, Carl Tiler etc etc etc. The list just goes on and on.

To paraphrase John Humphrys, we take an instant dislike to everyone. It saves time.

couldn't agree more. He looked quite composed in the middle on Saturday when he came on
