Cannot believe him shrugging his hands towards the Blades fans like that. He got some right stick around me. He's like openly saying he has'nt got a clue. Keep it to yourself kevin, your'e supposed to give something to shout about and not look as though you've thrown the towel in. Donny should be about 3 up at ht.

Blackwell made himself look foolish with the shrug ,you're right there was a lot of anger after. Their strikers got him/us out of jail with some shocking misses in the first half. Second half there was no pattern but the players gave it a right go - to a man ,even the less gifted and deserved a draw. Blackwell was taking the plaudits for the substitutions and changing the game ,they were injuries weren't they ?
Little ,another winger who can play ,might get another 5 minute cameo again before he gets another loan player in.

If it goes well, or we sneak a result/comeback it's Blackies doing.

If we fuck up, it's the players/fans/injuries/pitch/referee/weather/.......

He'd win some friends, if just once we heard 'tactically, I got it wrong'. But we won't, will we?

To be fair we certainly played better in the 2nd half and it may have just been down to KB. Just think he should'nt have reacted as he did to us. He should be above that.

To be fair, where did he actually claim credit?

Because it wasn't in the interview we heard coming away from the ground... He mentioned the injuries to the players.

On a similar note, I wish some fans would have a look at what's happening on the pitch before making complete and utter tits of themselves. So many people today going ballistic at Blackwell for taking off Camara and bringing a defender on, failing the spot the fact that Camara had clearly injured himself and spent the last few minutes making his way to the touchline, then standing there with an ice pack, waiting to be taken off.

Dunno, not listened to much of match, or post match - just responding to sitters comment.

cmon do you really think with all the moaners on here that would win him friends?
then we'd just get "KB's finally admitting he can't manage, it must be time for Mccabe to get rid of him"

damned if he does....

I think it was more down to dismay that we couldn't put a striker on the bench so we had to replace one with a left back when we're losing 1-0.

Mind you that's our own fault given our limited striking options and failing to put a recall clause on our loaned out striker  (obviously that may not be KB's decision but given that most other clubs insist on one and our reduced squad size this season it's a pretty major cock up on our part!)

i played mad when he shrugged his shoulders like he was saying that all we can do! I was thought it was funny when they was singing Gary Speed barmy army, but i wouldn't have him as a manager only manager experience he has is with blackwell.

Im torn as hell at the minute, i think blackwell is shit and that his tactics are crap. But on the other hand i feel that it must be hard to do anthing when you have been given no money or backing by the chairman. Mccabe seems to be taking not much blame and by the sounds of things hes just shit it and is now trying to get some money back before saying goodbye. Personally i think the best thing for united would be a fresh start from top to bottom and get some passion back at the club.

Also we had four defenders on the bench, a keeper, and a midfielder. Now granted, a full bench of any sort would have been better in my eyes than just naming six (I can remember when you could only name one sub! Seven? Luxury!), but there was little else he could do otherwise really.

Don't get me wrong, I'm far from a Blackwell fan, but some perspective could be useful among some people.

At the start, I'm actally pretty much with you. He isn't the best, and we'd be found out so horribly badly if we went up with him. We can't stop striving though, as otherwise what would be the point?

I'm also very disappointed by the way that McCabe, who is the best Chairman we've had in my lifetime, has taken a big back seat. There again, what do we actually want him to tell us? To be fair, he has been very open with answers to direct questions. Bear in mind that there are some questions which legally he may not be able to answer.

In an ideal world, yeah, why not have a clean sweep? Let's just start Football Manager 2005 and build from there in a different way. Actually, Football Manager 1898 might be a better start.

We ain't getting another McCabe quickly, let me tell you all, and I don't think he'll leave the Club in a bad state. He's already millions down as it is.

was sam wedgebury on the bench today?

absolutely disgusting to see that gesture from Blackwell as a fan after you've spent £50+ on going to the match and we start off with no passion, effort, signs of cohesion or football ability and get played off the park by a team worth a fraction of what you've invested.

I thought Doncaster took their foot off the gas and let us get back into it but fairplay for the improvements in the 2nd half. It shouldn't take until then to be able to change a game though. I'm not one of those that would expect us to dominate a team like doncaster and can accept the injuries play a part to some extent but I do expect us to compete against them and we just didn't do that at the start yesterday.

To shrug your shoulders at the fans is pathetic, he'd have been far better ignoring the chants or at least god forbid holding his hand up rather than shrugging like the clueless wanker he is at times.

Does anyone know what he actually meant by the 'shrug'..?

Apparently it meant ,sorry lads I'm way out of my depth here ,you should go for a new manager if you can pay me off.

Fans seem terribly sensitive about things like this. In my opinion it wasn't a shrug to say 'I couldn't care less' or 'So what', but more 'What the heck do you expect me to do. Once they're over that white line, it's up to them to play to the best of their ability'. But I don't know any more than the next bloke. What I do know is that it's just another reason to have a go at him.

Thats exactly what I thought and I wasn't annoyed in the slightest by the gesture, though it would perhaps have been more professional just to ignore the chants (then again, he'd then be critisised for that).

I think it was along the lines of, "what shall I do? bring off one of my centre half loanees for another one part way through the first half because they've just lost their man and given him a free header?"

that's how i read it and i can't agree. Had this been a one off it may hold water but that there comes a point where the manager has to take responsibility and yesterday's start was not unique, more par for course for many games over the last few years with him in charge.

What's the man to do when his back four go missing?

Rip his track suit off get on the pitch in the centre of the back four and organise them?

Felt for him as the player’s weren’t doing it and all he can do is shout at them. There were a lot of the fans doing that and it didn't change anything. Not until Blackie got them in the changing room could he affect things.

all this about not having any forwards...do we not play anyone up front in the reserves? or the youth team? Why not put one of these lads on the bench for emergencies like yesterday, must come as some kick in the nackers for those looking to push through.

why haven't we recalled Kyel Reid if we can't name a full squad? Fucking madness.

We had a forward sat in the stand yesterday called Billy Sharp. I doubt it was Blackwell but whoever agreed this stupid arrangement with Donny wants lynching. Bunn and Walker go back with 5 minutes notice ,we need 6 months ,scandalous.
