Our players really aren’t comfortable in possession, particularly the defenders. They panic if someone runs towards them and the only option is to hoof it forward, then the opposition retrieve it because we don’t have the forward players to challenge.

In one way I’m ok with it, because the thought of McGuinness trying to play a passing triangle and get out of a press makes me shudder.

Wilder talks a lot about “being brave”, and we are cowards with the ball. We should be sponsored by Spud Bros, because the ball is like a hot potato for a lot of the squad.

Don’t disagree but sometimes you can win the second ball in advanced positions and create from there. We played it on the deck in wide areas but Donovan looks a one trick pony and COH clearly isn't a left winger. Not enough creativity in the side as a whole.
 
Did we string 5 passes together yesterday? Genuinely. It was one of the most tactically inept displays I’ve ever seen from a United team. Even when we were getting pumped every week in the Prem we knew player for player we were out of our depth but we still had a go. Yesterdays performance was inexcusable. 442 ffs with O’Hare on the left wing? We just got the ball and pumped the channels. Seriki looked lost. There was a moment in the second half after Mccallum had played a ball down the left to absolutely no one, it wasn’t a bad pass but no one was in space, he just looks over to the manager, Arms out exasperated.

I'd be interested to know what one trick Donovan actually has. Looks to me like a Temu Andre Brooks .
 
I did like Gus but to get him playing out of position on the left and now we’ve sold him and we can instantly tell that we’re going to seriously miss him makes you wonder of what we’re up to.
 
The 4-4-2 is making me cringe a bit. Starting to feel a bit Ian Holloway in a post-Pep world.
 
4 4 2 will come back again it may sound old fashioned but look at ManCity they played with 2 wingers in many matches last season (not so much in Europe) getting a industrious winger who can track back is the problem at the moment because every young lad wants to do step overs and tricks
