Diving, fouling etc etc. It's just not cricket. Complete disgrace. Lucky to stay on the pitch.

Blackman has been one of the few positives so far this season. He went down too easily near the end yesterday but there was contact which is why he wasn't booked. The Oldham players spent the entire match over-reacting to challenges and trying to get our players booked.

Didn't appear to be contact.
Surely it would have been a foul if there was.

I thought you were going to remark on what a find we'd made. How he looks the part as out leading scorer and given more fotball will become a top striker for us. But no, he fell over late on. Fuck him.

UTB

If Blackman had gone down holding his face when their big clumsy centre half pushed his head into his face, they'd have had a man sent off without a doubt.

As it were, his honesty and reluctance to cheat and dive on this occasion cost us. Not that I'd advocate cheating and I credit to him for not making a meal of it.

Must have missed summat. Just what did Blackman do wrong? They were at him all game

True, there was head contact from that clownish No. 5. If it'd be their no 11 he'd have laid on the floor pretending to be unconscious for 5 minutes.

I notice Dickov also said Kitson went down for the penalty. To his credit he didn't throw himself on the floor - even the referee managed to see that one.

I thought everyone's favourite pass master KMac was chucking himself around a lot as well.

These tossers just make themselves look daft. Play football and pack that shite in united, leave it to the opposition.

Dickov was very lucky to stay in the dugout. Don't sit far behind there and he was on at the fourth from minute 1 every time something didn't go his way. Also every time the ref came close Dickov was right in his ear having a chat.

Got some reyt abuse from us when he was walking off at the end. Complete nob.

Eh? So every contact is a foul? I thought there was contact but not enough to justify a foul. And to have a thread having a go at Blackman - given the histrionics of their players and manager - is bonkers.

I'm trying to point out Deano amidst all the disgust and sour grapes at Oldham's 'antics' that Blackman cheated blatantly and Tmac's challenge was worst of the game for me.

I thought overall he had a quite game, but they did try to wind him up and kick the sh-- out of him. They were a dirty cheating nasty lot, an awful afternoon at the lane and no advert for football I expect aljazeria to ask for their money back.

Spot on mic.

Who cares about Oldham, I don't. I care about the attitude of our players. We need to start acting like professionals not diving, cheating knobheads.

Blackman used to play for Oldham so I'd imagine they enjoyed winding him up. It's the nature of modern football, end of.

KMacs challenge happened right in front of me - it was mis-timed and late but the contact was minimal. Their number 11 rolled about clutching his leg as if he'd been shot. Once KMac had been booked, No. 11 got back to his feet and high-fived one of his team-mates, which says it all. The worst challenge of the game was the disgraceful cheap-shot on George Long towards the end, which could have seriously injured him. Their lad had no possibility of getting the ball but took the opportunity to launch into Long whilst he was in the air - knocking him into the advertising hoarding.
None of this disguises what was a very poor performance but teams like Oldham are going to try to bully us due to the number of youngsters we have in the team. I'm surprised that not many people have highlighted the impact that losing Collins and Howard will have had on Saturday. They've both been excellent and solid this year - and bring a lot of experience and calmness to our defending. It's not a criticism of Long or Hill but I don't think we would have conceded the goal that we did had Collins and Howard been in place.
We're very much a work-in-progress. It's frustrating but Wilson is having to cope with losing his 4 best players ... Evans, Williamson, Quinn and Lowton - and replacing them largely with youngsters.
The fact that we can't bring Gallagher in because we need the money for a goalkeeper speaks volumes about the constraints he's working under. Third under the circumstances is a good start and we all hope that things gel and we become more consistent as the season goes on..... and that Blackman keeps scoring, which is one of the big bright spots.

The clatter into Long was disgraceful really.

As for Blackman he did not get touched and if he had stayed on his feet he would have been through on goal.

i love blackman.. he's a cocky b*stard.. just what you need..
when we got the penalty everyone looked away and blackman went straight for the ball
the foul at the end was a trip i was right in line with it

mic..do you actually support Sheffield United??
