Bitter taste in my mouth

I haven't read the whole thread but how is our first home Premier League game in over a decade NOT a category A game?

It feels like kind of a big deal.

You might just have caused a few light bulbs to come on with that statement. Then again, you might have to explain it further for some folks. :D

Close this miserable thread... or ,I’ve ot to hell where it belongs, we’re in the most prominent season in the last 13 years and some miserable.... wants to moan about prices....and the the club changing..
Exactly enjoy the day go and have a pint in the international bar before the game with the other fans .... Oh hang on its now a corporate non dining facility 😂😂

I love the Blades with all my heart and last season was one of the best in living memory. I’ve seen two other promotions to the top flight, and last season’s could have been the most exciting I have witnessed. I have huge respect for CW and the players who achieved promotion against the odds, and this is not a gripe at them. Most of the club’s employees are good people too. But I think there’s something rotten creeping in, something that’s driving a big wedge between the club and the fans.

In general, great wealth changes people for the worst. The more money you have, the more you want to retain it and acquire more. This applies to organizations too. When they can afford it, people and companies hire professionals, lawyers and PR people, not to engage with customers, but to brush them aside and avoid criticism.

OK, some things are now dictated by the PL. But in general, United’s attitude to the fans this season has been appalling. It has been that of rich company seeking to protect its assets and increase its wealth above anything else. The season ticket early bird fiasco, moving loyal season ticket holders without speaking to them first, the blatant rip off that is the membership scheme, the Palace ticketing fiasco, making Palace a Cat A game and charging our fans on the kop more than the away fans are just a few examples. Even worse is the terse responses to emails and the corporate-speak in the official communication. It stinks.

I can’t believe McCabe is responsible for this. His regime has been characterized by fair prices and good communication with the fans. I can only imagine that his power is now limited and someone else now has the final say when it comes to pricing, PR and communication.

The facts can’t be avoided. The club is really fucking up its relationship with the fans big time. Loyalty and tradition are taking a back seat to the practice of screwing as much money as possible out of the fans.

We’re currently acting worse than Wednesday under Chansiri, and it’s leaving a bitter taste in my mouth

I can only say that the club has done nothing to f*ck up it's relationship with me and I'm really happy with the way they have gone about things. In particular I'm delighted they've backed Wilder with some serious money, despite all the issues in the boardroom.

I think some of the things mentioned have been poorly handled, but I don't think for one moment this is anything to do with the club disregarding its fans. We're in the Premier League. Prices will go up. Tickets will be harder to come by. The first Premier League game in this city for 12 years will be a "category A" game, quite rightly. Attendances will rise. Queues for refreshments will be longer, so we have to find some way of speeding that service up, and cashless is an obvious way to do that. Etc etc etc.

I think what's happening is the world is changing - and change leaves some folks behind, depending on how they think about it

If we covered the price increases using the PL and get relegated, and didn't have PL money anymore, who would be happy to pay for the increases for Championship football the season after? Nobody.
Plus, you can't operate on a policy of everything just being covered by the new money without proper checks and balance and grip of sound business models.
If you won a few Bob on the lottery and just went around putting it on the card cos "my winnings will cover that" but you never actually checked the account, eventually the waiter will return to tell you your card has be declined.

This is a once in a generation opportunity to become a professionaly run football club, established, fair to fans, and blow other Yorkshire cubs out of the water. We could be over the horizon in a few years, 40,000 stadium, on sky, world famous, star players, FA Cup runs... Europe, and still have reasonable prices and a connected fan base.
No let's use the money to cover programme losses and sell a pie and pint for £2 instead.

Ticket.purchasing is a joke. I'm trying to spend 78.quid on 3 Leicester tickets for me and the boys. I'm fully registered and they r as family.and friends..All looks ok on.my.account and we all have more.than enough loyalty points but when I try and buy them it says 'the quantity of tickets owned by xxxxxxx exceeds.limitations'.

Well how the @@@@ can it when we only.want one each? If you are going to install a new ticketing software package beta test it and.make sure it works before the season starts.

We are going to end up losing revenue as casual.fans just wont bother. And for.those who think this.doesnt matter it does.for 2.reasons. Firstly this is our chance.to dominate south yorkshire fan wise for the foreseeable.future and secondly once the novelty factor wears.off we wont sell out the matches against.the.likes of Burnley, Brighton, Watford et al.

See my dialogue with Booker4 on one of the ticket threads. You need to go into your account and click on “Manage My Relationships” then Edit each person and make sure the box to buy each other tickets (it actually says season tickets!) is ticked.

Last night I met Kate Upton and Scarlett Johanson in the boozer. They bought me ale all night and then drove me back home for a threesome.
This morning, they cooked me a full english and cleaned up and did my washing and ironing.
But now, I've found they put my socks back in the wrong drawer.
It's really took the shine of it and left a bitter taste in my mouth about the whole thing.

A similar thing happened to me but they harvested my kidney. I’m not that bothered really, I’ve got another one. But £3.50 for a programme. That’s taking a fucking liberty.

Do the club still give 10% discount to season ticket holders in the club shop? Just asking like....
