Not a fantastic signing, not the pace we need but a good solid buy IMO, as said elsewhere, looks our Shipperley signing.

I watched him a lot years ago at York City and initially thought he was a dreadfully cumbersome footballer. He grew on me.

I still believe he's a bit clumsy, slow and lacks composure. He's become a better footballer since those days, clearly, now he has a bit of skill, a trick or two and can score goals. He will have no resale value and this will be the best club he could have hoped to get at this stage in his career. I believe partnered with Billy he could be a useful addition but ideally I'd rather have signed a fast, young striker.

We'll have to see , the one thing CW demands is workrate some players lose their way at clubs re-the comment he was great under Rowett .. there clubs been a joke in recent times with Zola & Bent Harry so maybe we'll get the best out of him .
If you look at the effect CW had on Coutts you wouldn't have believed it if someone had told you before .
Like a lot on here I was expecting different and surprised we've signed a 33 yr old .
I know there's been chapter and verse on here about agents / inflated prices etc. and as anyone will know from my posts I don't advocate the shit or bust approach or Billy big bollocks marquee signings , butI can't help thinking we've missed a trick here in not building on the momentum ?

We all wanted Cole for sure maybe that will happen in January.Reading the description I thought are signing the chief?! He didn't do too badly did he?! I actually think he's going to be a Blades favourite. The more I think about it the more I can see why Wilder wanted him. He'll be popular with our fans I'm sure of that. That's just my prediction.

I remember him most from when we played Brentford at the lane, the season they went up to the Championship. It was a night match if I recall? Did it end 2-2? I can't remember exactly now, but I do remember seeing him and thinking, my God! that bloke's a handful. He was quick and strong and caused us all kinds of problems.

I'm prepared to believe that, several years on now, he won't be so quick. But he's a bit of a powerhouse up front and he's certainly one of those players who gives it 100% every game - even the most cynical of Brum fans have said that. So I think he's going to be just great for us. Brilliant signing - and for not a lot of money either. Well done Wilder. Well done Blades!

Don't forget we've got pace in Brooks and Thomas and they'll get their chance soon.
