Billy's goal .

Some reports I've read would lead you to believe that it was a scruffy routine tap in . Nothing could be further from the truth .

It was , in fact , a perfect example of the goal scorers art which sets him and a few others I have had the pleasure of watching over the years apart from the rest .

Being in exactly the right position at exactly the right time over and over again is an ability which is reserved for only the very best and the finish itself was totally clinical .

The slightest hesitation in getting the shot away or any less conviction in the shot itself would lead to the goal not being scored , as has happened so often for the Blades this season .

But not when Billy Sharp's around . Legend .

It's called having the knack.

Its not just being in the right place, it's also being calm enough to see where that small opening is, allowing for incoming defenders.

Billy knows what he is doing. Not sure why it is still a surprise to some people that he is always in the right place when a low ball comes into the box.

Also, I love it when people start to think Sharp is being replaced in the team and is no longer needed he comes roaring back to being a first choice striker.

Billy has scored some fantastic goals but is know for being the fox in the box. He simply knows how to score goals. Him being replaced by mousset after an hour is perfect.

It was instinctive. That's because Billy is a natural goalscorer.

He's always looking for space in the box and to get away from defenders, always on the move. The goal he scored today was down to him watching the play and the defenders, and you can see him hold his run before switching back to the back post as that's where the space is. More often than not, the ball doesn't get to him, but when it does, like it did today, he was on it like a flash. Goalscorer supreme that lad.

It's like he's been watching the old footage of the great Jimmy Greaves.

Billy is much more useful in the Premier League than many think.

It may seem like as we play better and better opposition his ability to score goals would wane, but in a league as tight as the Prem and with margins as fine as the ones we face every week, you have to take calculated gambles when attacking. When making that gamble, ideally you want the highest possible chance at the end of the ball going in the back of the net, and Sharps finishing is exceptional.

He's not going to dribble past 3 players and belt a thunderbolt into the bottom corner (though I hope he surprises me!), but he just needs one good delivery into the box and he'll be on the end of it. He was very unlucky not to score vs Man City at the Etihad.
