Will we see number 200 infront of the KOP satdy afternoon!!!??? Would be really good to see, and secretly I think it's actually what Billy would want!!! 25k+ fans witnessing his 200th goal, there could be tears!!!!!!
Come on fatty!!!!!

At the risk of starting a serious debate, I thought he looked a lot better last night with a partner with pace and movement. Recently, his partnership with Hanson has me doubting whether that partnership gets the best out of both of them...
Well I never ;)

The odds on us scoring 4 goals from 4 different players and not one of them being Billy would have been massive.

Bet he was butted when we got the pen shortly after he was subbed !

He didn't look particularly noteworthy last night, he just kept changing wings to stand on. I like Hanson but I can't say he strikes me as a shoe in for Drogba...it seems a bit foolish to say when we are getting so many goals, that I don't think Wilder is quite sure what his best front line is. I would like to see Caruthers play more as a old school winger, I think he can really get behind defences

I was looking at the prices of scorers in the match before kickoff and we had freeman at 7/2.

A bloody fullback 7/2!!
Good odds them ourbob, Sharp scores 1 in 5 according to the stats, Freeman scores 1 in 2 the blokes lethal.:D

Useless, we need to start giving McNulty a chance.

I think it's mostly intentional. Tufty's wanting a bigger range of players scoring to show the Championship we're not just a one-man team.

Billy will get his 200 before May, don't worry.

We should boo him every time he gets the ball.

Actually something I heard a guy sitting next to me say about McEveley the other year.

Ps. On the subject of Matt Done, I was just coming out of the ticket office on Monday when I saw Matt walking down the car park to get on the team coach. A worried look came across his face just as our paths were about to cross, only alleviated when I gestured for him pass in front of me to climb the steps. Only afterwards did it occur to me that he would never have got past me or been able to get around.

Assume there is a reason your called Zeppelin Fred?
:p

I did warn yous all abart this.

Does Sharp work well off a target man ?

Is he effective ?

Have we been noticeably more direct with Hanson on the pitch ?

Do the 2 combine well as a pair / have good understanding ?

In Tufty I trust (he keeps getting the results!) but I am, bluntly, flabbergasted that we have set up the way we have done this last few games. The method used is IMHO bound to see our top scorer in the country / division glaringly ineffective to the extent I will no longer be able to state he is the top scorer in the country / division.

The side in an offensive sense is now built around Hanson. Billy is clearly suffering as a consequence.

While the points keep rolling in I guess there is no immediate need for concern. But longer term, I see problems. Big ones.

At the risk of upsetting zillions of Blades fans on here, who will defend Billy to the enth degree, it has to be said he was poor last night v Millwall (and at Oldham) and I think he probably should have been subbed off in the second half at some point. That's not to say I don't appreciate him or the fantastic goal effort he's put in this season. He's been in the right place at the right time and without his goals we wouldn't be sitting at the top of the table, that's for sure. But also, that doesn't make him fireproof from being subbed during a game does it? Or does it?

If you're looking back at the full video of last night's game then look closely at his performance and you'll see what I mean. In the opening minute a ball is sent up to Hanson - Hanson flicks it on with his head down the left flank. Billy is stood out on the left flank but despite knowing what Hanson is likely to do with the ball, he is slow to react and anticipate the flick on. He's about 5 yards away from where the ball is heading. He chases after it but it's too late by then and it goes out for a goal kick. This same scenario is repeated several times throughout the game. Hanson flicks on - but Billy is nowhere near it. He really did very little throughout the whole game last night and I know that he's always likely to put a half-chance away, and that's why he's on the pitch, but I think when we are comfortably ahead, as we were last night at 2-0, with 20 mins to go, he should have come and watched the rest from the dug out and give someone else a chance.

I have to say that I think we will need to find faster, more agile, strikers, than our current front two for next season. And I hope we aren't seriously thinking of Lee Gregory from what I saw of him last night. I thought he was poor.

That's a big 'but'!

Either you trust him or you don't. As it happens I do.

Billy for me every time, it's a no-brainer.

Were you at the game? From where I sit on the Kop, he was substituted but maybe my rose tinted Bladey-Blade specs need cleaning.

Billy does NOT work well off a target man. Never has done. Never will do.

If your going to set your stall out with Hanson as your focal point of the attack, Sharp may as well go down the boozer.

Now.

If you honestly believe that it is CORRECT to set your offensive stall around a slow, cumbersome non footballer in the mould of a James Hanson who can genuinely not be relied upon to pass a simple ball straight or to control a simple ball played in to him then, I for one believe this is a recipe for disaster.

Billy has scored 26 league goals. 26. Hanson has scored 1 albeit in less matches.

Maybe we should go with a prolific Hanson / Clarke combo instead ??

Tufty has this wrong. I'll stand by this ascertion with my dying breath.

Sharp could go without a single goal in all remaining 6 games and it still wouldn't take the shine off what's been an excellent season for him.

I don't agree that he doesn't play well alongside Hanson – his most recent flurry of goals occurred during that partnership, and they've looked fine together for the most part. That being said, watching the not-particularly-legal feed in the first half last night, he did seem to be drifting wide considerably more than usual.

Sharp will go through the occasional brief lean spell. The key, as it was each time before, is to not overreact or overanalyse.

Billy is doing what he's always does no matter who he's played alongside, he'll have a few mini dry patches in a season .

I'm amazed some still haven't picked up on it, there's still every chance that if he scores against Cov, he'll break the 200 and end up on 30+ for the season.

Forget all your theories about Billy not being able to play with a target man or he's too slow, fat etc etc

The truth is it's all down to the curse of the Player of the Month award. :)
