Piece in the mail mainly about harry kane, shows a list of the leading goalscorers in English league football this century, rickie Lambert top with 605 goals from 219 games, rooney second, cureton third and Billy in fourth with 195 from 445, Billy has his from the fewest games of the top five, I realise the other are from the premier but impressive nonetheless, just think what he could have achieved if he wasn't a fat lad from Sheffield, he may even be top within the next sesson and a half.:-)

Bloody hell Rickie Lambert was a machine! - rickie Lambert top with 605 goals from 219 games ;)

but in all seriousness very nice to see Billy up there and fully deserved, he seems much like United at the moment and flying under the radar, but great to see us finally having a a few days in the sun in all departments :)

Slightly different leagues though, much easier to score that many goals at L1 level than at Premiership level.

I always thought it was unfair that he didn't get a chance with Southampton in the Prem. I can understand top-tier clubs not taking a punt on him but as a seasoned-pro, to help a club gain promotion with some very valuable goals and not really get a sniff is a shame.

The odds have to be in his favour to be top I reckon, not this season but by the end of next quite possibly, although I accept next season he will find it harder in the premier league, so probably only 20 goals next season.

Why was it unfair? Adkins knew what Billy was about and had to make an assessment on whether he was good enough for the PL. He decided he wasn't. Pochettino agreed when he took over. Whilst there's an argument that Adkins didn't know his arse from his elbow, Poch clearly knows and didn't rate him.
If there's anything 'unfair', it's that lone strikers were in fashion at the time. Maybe if two up front had been more fashionable in the PL when Billy was at his peak, he'd have got a better chance.
