Do people still doubt him?

Since he scored his first goal, breaking away from the nightmare he had under robson, he has gone on to score 8 goals in 16 games since then, 1 in 2 is a good record by anyones standards

by the goals he has scored, barnsley & burnley last season and last night in particular he has shown he really is a natural finisher in the box

i also feel his general play, first touch, decision making, holding the ball up has improved somewhat since last season

i for one think he is turning out to be a great asset like we all hoped, i get the feeling some are still unsure though, what do you think?

i also notice all of his goals bar QPR have come when cotterill was on the pitch, which shows, a bit of good service = more goals from him, imagine if we got a proper left winger and had 2 wingers on the pitch at the same time, him and beats could have a field day!

I think he is quite strong for someone is size. Holds it up well at times. Last night showed he can finish too. Personally he has grown on me since we signed him.

It is actually one in seventeen games, but I still hear your point.

I still don't rate him. For me he needs to improve more than he has done, however I do agree he is a lot better than he was.

There are flashes of good play, like his goal against Coventry, but most of the time he is below average at best.

what? .

I am not sure that Billy is the problem to be honest. He is a goal scoring poacher and currently our style of play with no width and no midfield doesnt play to the strengths of a player such as BS. That said he sometimes seems to be asleep and not following the game.

It's no coincidence; the part about Cotterill. For all his time at Scunthorpe he had wingers supplying him.

His overall game is getting better and better - certainly not just a poacher.

What frustrated me about Sharp last season was that when he was looking to receive a ball, he seemed to concentrate more on his defender than the ball itself... much like Andy Gray used to. Increasingly, he's keeping his eye on the ball and is able to make more runs off his defender instead of trying to get in his shorts :D

What he said.

Billy has imporved his all round game to ensure he is no longer just a box player and for that he deserves a lot of credit. He has played, for the majority if not all of his blades career, in a team which creates precious few chances but he has still chipped in with a decent amount of goals.

He is perhaps not capabale of creating a chance for himself but he has shown that he can help create one for someone else and he can finish if someone creates a chance for him.

Overall I'm happy with Billy's progress so far; i just wish we could create a few more chances for him.

Agreed.

I think since Billy returned he has improved alot. The hat trick against QPR proved that to be honest. Give him a chance and he will score 9 times out of 10. The only downside to his game is the fact he struggles to stay on onside. If he could stay onside more he would certainly bag loads of goals for us.

someone who sits near me shouts at billy everytime he goes down. if its a blatent shove or a tackle he's always shouting "what the hell, get up sharp, stay on your feet" etc......
