The Newcastle fans started it. They were playing away at Old Trafford & the song was referring to Ronaldo being a sex offender in light of the allegations. Other fans decided to copy the song and just insert any random players name in.
It's a rubbish song and sick as you say. But at least the Newcastle one had some context.

From Billy asking 'what you was gonna do' its a higher than average chance that its the mouthy sheep shagger thats making some sort of threat. I'm quite suprised how quick certain 'Blades' are to jump on our Captain's back saying how he's in the wrong. On 1 hand we've got Billy Sharp, a player known for his good nature and been an absolute professional on AND off the pitch. On the other hand we've got a total moron, who proves this by waiting an hour or so after the match has ended to shout insults at the opposition players. I'm not a betting man but if I was I know, 100%, where I'd place my bet as to who started the shitshow and who was the 1 being out of order. Granted, Billy could've ignored it and just got on the bus BUT depending on what the bloke said (especially if it involved either his bereaved son or the sex offender bullshit) I fully understand his reaction, especially when hed more than likely had to listen to it all afternoon off the sheep shagging bad man wanna be's. Same with vardy , pig of the highest order deserves the abuse he gets for 90 minutes , but
When the game ends , it ends for me unfortunately some fans think it can go on and people / players are fair game , and a good chunk of society things the same ,
I never sung the Ched song , for me it went to far

Spot on mate. Social media is full of wankers saying shit that they woudn't dare say to somebodies face. Some of the things that get written about Oli McBurnie on here are disgusting. Ok I get that he's hardly lived up to our expectations after signing him, but I would love to see people call him the things they do on here to his face. I have a rule that I always try to keep - in real life as well as on social media - I will only write or say something about somebody that I would say to their face.

When you say "at the moment" do you just mean the last game? We won the four league games before Saturday. Which half of the team weren't playing well during that good run of form?

When a player gives it back they have every right to do so and those that can't take it shouldn't be giving it in the first place.

Even then there is a line that should not be crossed. Banter is fine but chants that would clearly be considered illegal in a court of law is not.

The treatment Hendo got at Elland Road, sex offender songs, songs about tragedy such as Hillsborough, Munich, personal loss etc are well out of order and break the bounds of human decency.

During the game they're the enemy but as soon as the game is over they're just another bloke earning a living and deserve the same respect as anyone else walking the streets.
