Driving into Sheff this morning and was greeted by a large pic of our captain advertising the Premier League on Sky. It’s just opposite the big Sainsbury’s, a couple of hundred yards from the theatre of rust - whoever is responsible, that is top trolling! Glad to get a pic before it’s inevitably defaced by our arrogant porcine neighbours.62DE75E2-2BAE-453F-A7F7-CDCEF829EEE0.png

A fine player, in a beautiful iconic shirt, playing for an historic football club that plays in the best league in the world.

A quality billboard, positioned just a quarter of a mile from one of the biggest rusting shit-heaps in the world.

What a great juxtaposition!

Reminds me of the Sky one with Tevez placed somewhat deliberately by BDTBL the summer after our relegation.

Couldn't resist putting it on the owls v blades banter group on f/book tango as usual with his normal intelligent attempts at put downs tbf does anyone else think sky may have been a little bit mischievous with the placing 😂😂😂

It's gone on twitter, cue the piggy meltdown :)

Is that the same board they painted a pig red and white on?
Either way... have that ya bastards!!

As a slight aside how tough is it for them at the moment, they must be absolutely shitting themselves at the thought of the coming season, on their forum they are laughing at our non premier league signings, but inside boy are they hurting, and I for one think it's going to get an awful lot tougher because it's our time, we are on the up and they are at best staying a mid table championship club, lets hope Tony Pulis or Megson is announced soon, can you imagine that.

Completely agree. As one of many examples they are now spaffing themselves over the return of their magical midfield trio, Banana, Crutchinson and biscuit hip Lee. Jesus wept, 2 of them will be lucky to play 20 games and the other isn't anything like as good as they make him out to be. Pelupissy and a couple of scraps from the academy make up their current CM cadre.
Compare that to our options, Norwood, Fleck, Morrison, Freeman, Osborne, Lundstram, Basham, all fit as a fiddle with genuine quality, possibly with more to come in. Yet you can bet your bottom dollar that they still think they have the better midfield.

I don't see them doing anything special this season. There are already at least 10 teams who are significantly stronger than them, with stable management and younger fitter squads. Mid table at best, but I wouldn't rule out a flirt with relegation either.

If we were to come straight back down, which I highly doubt we will, we will still be light years ahead of them on and off the pitch. That may flip back in their favour a few years down the line but for now there really is only one team of any note in this City.

Serious question. These billboards must have a run of ... X number. What's the chance of obtaining a set of this particular poster?
Make blithering brilliant wall art for kids bedroom, garage etc.
Get hold of the template -digital or whatever - make a number, sell like mad. I'd 'ave one.

It's like a gift from the gods! Even though I don't quite share the hatred of some on here, I do, from time to time, get the hump when one of the lower order squeak up and come out with a priceless gem based on nothing more than envy and disbelief. The Blades achieving promotion was a double whammy - (a) to watch the supposedly 'mighty' Leeds fall apart in the promotion run-in was a joy to behold, and (b) knowing just how sick with disbelief the village people of S6 were knowing we'd done in two seasons what they're nowhere close to achieving after nearly a decade of trying! My god, not only did they lose a manager who they thought could deliver the promised land, the circumstances that lead up to that comical drama was peerless as it unfolded.

Whoever chose that poster, whether it was pure coincidence or not, someone has chosen to announce that we are Sheffield's premium brand. I couldn't have put it better myself.

It's magnificent isn't it? Saw it this morning after going to sainsburys. A local lad made good, about to play in the premier league for his boyhood club.

Who was the last pig fan to play for them in the top flight of English football? Surely there must be one...even if he is drawing his pension these days...

Wasn't long ago they were laughing at our non championship players
Our only useful attribute "momentum" has certainly lasted a long time hasn't it ?

He looks like Kyle Walker in that picture, I wonder if they are by chance related?

Did he play for them in the Prem? Surely he was still in nappies last time they ate at the top table...

Edit...he was born in January 1987, so he was 13 when they got relegated. My point stands. Find me a pig fan that played for them in the top division.
